Is it okay to wait 1-2 weeks to start Casodex in order to get a 2nd opinion on treatment / hormone therapy recommendations ? My relative just found out he is Gleason 9 and urologist wants to start him right away on Casodex and then Lupron shot in 2 weeks. After that he would start radiation in

Gleason 9, Age 72, stage 3 or 4 ?
Appreciate any help / feedback on if we should get 2nd opinion. The urologist would not tell us the exact stage, and avoided saying that it has spread or stage IV. He said the radiologist would be the one to stage it, but he suggested it was T2, N0, M0. I am concerned that Gleason 9 (4 + 5) and

hello everyone! My father was diagnosed with MBC in May of 2022. He has been on Ibrance letrozole xjeva every 6 months and lupron shots monthly. Initially his tumor markers did a steep decline I think they went from 66 and dropped about 5-10 points each month and now they have been hovering at 23

Orgovyx-- need info/experiences
Well, my PSAs have started rising. I have one more late next week. In the past, Lupron/Casodex has successful knocked the snot out of my PSA's. Dr. Lam has suggested that I do Orgovyx next time. I have a video chat with him on the 16th. Barring a pleasant PSA surprise I will need to start it PDQ*!!

not really sure . My Situation was 251 PSA - Gleason 9 with gland involvement in abdomen . Went to tumor board and treatment suggestion was Lupron -casodex 4 weeks then Lupron - Xtandi plus 8 weeks Radiate to prostate and lymph. PSA dropped to .006 and remains that level after 1 year - still on Lupron

First post-ADT vacation PSA test
I just had the first PSA test after restarting Lupron in August. It was my second vacation and was about a year long. My PSA is now 0.3 so it seems I’m still castrate sensitive. My PSA has come down more quickly than it did after my first vacation. And almost as important is that the side effects are

scans after chemo looking promising
Diagnosed with low PSA - a Turp surgery biopsy diagnosed Gleason 9, scans showed spread to pelvic lymph nodes. Lupron and Zytiga for 6 months, and then scans showed spread to cervical lymph nodes. Only 6 months to castrate resistant. Just finished 4th round of Chemo (Dox with Carboplatin) Scans

I think this question was asked an answered 4 years ago, but perhaps an update? Should I stop taking Abiraterone for no particular reason?
During my last MO visit, it was suggested that I could stop taking Abiraterone (now at 6 months) if the side effects were really bad. I've never really considered the side effects of Abiraterone to be worse for me, than Lupron (or Elligard), and so stopping the drug would be just 5 less pills a day

PSMA miracle?
I was diagnosed with Stage four in October 2021 (Gleason 9 in all sites). Been on Lupron and Zytiga with Prednisone since November 2021. Numerous MRI's, CT scans, and bone scans over course of first year indicated multiple bone mets in pelvis, rib, elbow and shoulder. Also moderate to severe arthritis

Terrible Hair Loss Recently
I have been on Ibrance and Letrozole for about two years now. I was getting lupron shots, but stopped about four months ago. I am now recently getting zometa infusions every three months instead of once a month. I have alopecia, where I would get bald spots every once in awhile. Just recently, I have

Fulvestrant and Zometa only
Dear All, My initial MBC diagnosis was in 2016 with one metastatic spot on the top of the left femur bone near the hip. Treatment was very light with a daily letrozole pill and a monthly Lupron injection. The spot melted away in one year and remained NED on annual scans for five years. I was working

PSA increase on Lupron and Zytiga
I have been on lupron and Zytiga the last 14 months with psa under .01 until 11/8 when my psa test came in at 0.27. This is of great concern to me and I’m trying to make decisions on where to go from here. My bio gives greater details of my situation. Thanks.

Transdermal E2 Gel
Many of you are still questioning my use of tE2 gel? The gel and the E2 Patch are basically an old therapy which was taken off the market in 1985 due to an increase in cardiovascular issues and replaced with the extremely profitable and 'QOL reducing' jabs called Lupron or Zolodex. Prior to that time

Side effects right after Lupron shot
I received my second Lupron shot earlier this week. I’m getting side effects - fatigue, frequent urination that I experienced for the first couple of weeks after the first shot, but then dissipated. I’m wondering if anyone has experienced similar - more intense SE’s right after the shot. Maybe

Should our RO's be doing HDR for Gleason 9?
My husband is 62, fit, active, but is Gleason 9 (4+5). All 12 cores were positive and he has seminal vesicle invasion and some evidence of extra capsular extension. Thankfully, Pylarify PSMA-Pet scan was clear with no lymph node or bone metastasis. So, he is cT3b N0M0. 2 urologist/surgeons thought surgery
