They are so bizzarre and random. One moment just sitting down reading and then swoosh, attacked like a silent flight of a night owl flying in for the kill. Veins pop out on my hand and forearm, hot all over, can't wait to get the blanket off, like it was a heated one, and a minute or so later, as my wife silently chuckles, I'm cold. Waking me up at night several times. Only been on Lupron for a month. Guess I better see what my R.O has up his sleeve for me after my radiation tomorrow. Black Cohosh?

I take 300 mg of magnesium glycinate daily for hot flashes. It doesn’t completely eliminate them but it reduces them and calms them down.
my wife had hot flashes when she had early menopause with same symptoms you describe. She didn’t want to take estrogen replacement so her doc told her to increase soy intake and an over the counter tablet called estroven. She sailed through it pretty well, but a lot of damp sheets and blanket flinging as you describe. She is a distance runner and said that she had a much easier time with menopause than some women report due to her intense, frequent cardio. But even with that she still had the dreaded hot flashes.
I have wondered whether any docs working with us on ADT side effects recommend similar with the soy and all? Maybe it all works completely different with men and women.
Some get relief from auricular acupuncture, Megace, estrogen patches (with tamoxifen), oxybutynin, or venlafaxine.
Bilateral Orchiectomy April 2015 and can't remember last time I had a Hot Flush/Flash or Sweats. Occasionally feel a bit warm like after I have a sip of Ironroot Republic's 133.7proof Straight Corn Whiskey 👍👍
