I received my second Lupron shot earlier this week. I’m getting side effects - fatigue, frequent urination that I experienced for the first couple of weeks after the first shot, but then dissipated.
I’m wondering if anyone has experienced similar - more intense SE’s right after the shot.
Maybe it’s all in my head. . .

Yes Lupron & casodex were my first treatments & the SE were so bad I never went back to them. These days taking Firmagon with a minimum of SE, just fatigue & hot flushes.
Exercise seems to be the best & most important medicine.
My first shot of Lupron had few side effects other than a loss of sexual interest. I did not have hot flashes, or did not notice them. The 2nd shot toward the end of my radiation therapy increased my fatigue. I had diligently gone to the gym, but the increasing fatigue ended that. I needed a daily nap during weeks 5 to 8 of RT and for a few weeks after RT ended. The worst SE were bladder spasms probably due to the RT. Several episodes were extremely painful and made urinating difficult. The meds helped a bit, but a heating pad on my junk and finally urinating were more effective in soothing the spasms. As I regained my energy, I added more exercise, toned up my muscles and the fatigue lessened. My advice: give yourself time to recover and heal.
I get the "lupron flu" a few days after my shot. Exhausted, can't get out of bed and generally achy all over for about 24 hours. Then back & better than ever. I get 6 months shots.
