10 months post Stem Cell Transplant
It's been a long time since I last posted on here! 10 months ago I was lucky enough to receive donor cells from a 10/10 match. It's been a rollercoaster ride but looking back, I've been very lucky as it has been nowhere near as bad as I had read it could be. Yes there have been some challenges, felt

She was referring me to lung doctor but the appointment would be a long tine. 2 days later the hospital rang me to book me in for ct scan in 2later. I looked on my doctors

Bronchoscopy with BAL
Hi there, I'm currently under the Royal Brompton Hospital for undiagnosed breathlessness and complex cough. I've had CT scans, CPET testing, and blood tests galore, but on Thursday I will have my first ever bronchoscopy with BAL and possible biopsy...and I am terrified. I really hated having the tube

Lung Biopsy

Since I'm up anyway
With this stupid sciatica keeping me up all hours, I thought I'd mention something that might be of interest and even more to fellow COPD sufferers, and especially for those who might be seeking lung transplants. I have a neighbor who had a transplant not long ago. Maybe two years? I'm not really sure

Silent Reflux after lung surgery?
Has anyone heard that about 48% of people having lung cancer surgery often have silent reflux afterwards? Almost 9 weeks after my lobectomy I have noisy breathing in my oesophagus, a chronic cough, hoarseness in varying degrees, and post nasal drip particularly at night, and I burp quite often. All

Newly diagnosed
Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with lung cancer, which I have been told is operable. But at pet scan another area was found in lower aspect of same lung. I am terrified at the thought of it all, its all I think about at the moment. Can anyone tell me how they were following op, not sure if it will

Yellow soft paraffin - update
Thank you everyone for your comments about the paraffin cream. I queried their usage of it and one of the nurses followed through, checked with pharmacy, and now Southampton General will NOT be using yellow paraffin for patients on oxygen! Thanks again everyone, without your support I might not have

Nodules found on the diaphragm, more info please.
Just 12 months ago my husband had lung surgery to remove three fifths of his upper left lobe, followed by 12wks of chemo and is now on a double blinded trial drug. Because he is on a trial he gets extra scans and checks (thank goodness) and some spots have now shown as active on his lower left lobe.
