Can we rely on what our doctors tell us. After 5 days in hospital I went to see my doctor. She said I had a small module on my long. She was referring me to lung doctor but the appointment would be a long tine. 2 days later the hospital rang me to book me in for ct scan in 2later. I looked on my doctors records which said that I had suspected lung cancer but my doctor had never mentioned this to me. Has anyone else had this experience where the doctor doesn't tell you everything.

Suspected lung cancer
Panda22 could it be that all nodules need to be evaluated? A CT scan gives a more detailed picture. Most nodules aren’t cancerous. I have one that isn’t cancerous and hasn’t changed. Waiting to find out is very frustrating. Sounds like your GP is being careful. I hope everything is OK.
I went for scan couple of months ago, was told week later they had found nodule
and needed to check again. Yes it was a small cancer which l then had Radiotherapy for.
It has now started to shrink, but the larger one ????? LARGER ONE ???? has only grown
3mm in SIX YEARS ??? WHICH LARGER ONE !!!! Well we found one six years ago and
must have FORGOTTEN to tell you.
Absolutely I have had very similar experience but please ignore my grammar on this reply as I am using my audio texting I have been having ongoing CT scans etc since November 2018 due to them finding a nodule on my left lung and I still do not know whether or not it is cancerous but what I do know is that it is possibly infection I've done lots of research myself and discovered that sometimes lung cancer can start from infections scars on the lung but I am dealing with it on a day-to-day basis so in a nutshell just keep going for the scans and asking questions my Warm wishes are with you x
Shocking! Absolutely shocking. I am in north west Highlands of Scotland and we are soooo blessed here between the GPs and all the health teams. They are good at sharing info with patients AND info sharing between relevant departments, which helps such a lot. Sorry to hear of your experience. Put in a complaint via you local Advice Bureau.
Thanks for all your replies. At hospital tomorrow so keeping everything crossed. Will let.you know the outcome.
I think your doctor is being careful and carrying out due diligence in his investigation of your current medical issue. He is not committing himself to any sort of diagnosis without having all the relevant facts at hand. How would you feel if he mentioned cancer and you got yourself in a panic only to find out the issue was not cancerous a few weeks later. Doctors only commit themselves when facts can back up their diagnosis they avoid hunches.
I have been cleared of having cancer. I do not have another scan until next year when they will see if nodule has grown. Happy days
I just had the same, hospital tomorrow, so so scared. Glad yours was nothing x
