Hair test for food allergies - true or false
Hi! I've been reading about hair strand food allergies and honestly it sounds all a bit incredible to me... I have been researching other tests more specific for this problem and apparently there is no medical base to support them. My question is, does anybody think/know If the hair tests are reliable

Desloratadine v Levocetirizine for hayfever
My GP changed me from Desloratadine to Levo last year, and not sure it is a change for the better. Anyone else done this change and noticed deterioration?

Resveratrol
I'm curious what people make of resveratrol and whether anyone has any experience of it. I am concerned by the mention of its possible estrogenic effect. That phrase usually has me running in the opposite direction, but I am curious about its antiinflammatory properties. I would much prefer to

Hayfever?
Hi all, I'm taking seretide 250 at the moment and the prescribing of it has coincided with what I guess is pretty bad hay-fever. However, antihistamines aren't really cutting it so I wondered whether it could be that I'm allergic to the seretide? I hope not as it's the best thing I've taken for a while

Anyone with Hashimoto's found they are more food sensitive?
Last November I made a concerted effort to go gluten free but I have actually felt worse. I seem to have all sorts of allergies that start my eyelids itching and swelling slightly. I now find I have become allergic to bananas and have eaten one nearly every day for years because of the potassium content

Sudden onset breathing crisis
Shared knowledge plea - I have COPD with a side order of bronchiectasis and more recently hay fever. Diagnosed about eight years ago. Recently I have had some exacerbations - two this year. The latest is slightly different since I appear to have no infection - just very bad breathing. I have done the

Asthma not behaving
I started my new spring/summer routine this Monday. Taking myself off as agreed with my new asthma nurse stepping down to Flixoide 250 one puff a day from Seretide 250 twice a day. Last year I was fine on this routine but on Monday night the cough started so I reach for my Ventolin two puffs. Then yesterday

Kenalog
Hi My main asthma trigger is multiple allergies. I am very allergic to tree pollen so this time of year is always tricky for me. I have an appointment to get a kenalog injection on Monday (first time for me). Plan is for a 40 dose on Monday and if I am finding that ok then 80 in a month, hopefully this

Scary low blood pressure
I'm preparing to take another IgG4 blood test for delayed food allergies. Yesterday I ate a little of many of the foods that are on the list that will be tested then did some shopping. Felt bad so rested in bed. Blood pressure dropped to 71/48 with 108 pulse. Allergic reaction to the foods? My normal

Intro & Healthy Birthday Party Food Question?
Hi Everyone, I am new here, and wanting to lose weight. I just checked my BMI on the NHS Healthy Weight Calculator ( http://www.nhs.uk/Tools/Pages/Healthyweightcalculator.aspx ), and discovered I am OBESE! My BMI is 32.9, I weigh 13st 10lbs. I've always thought of myself as getting just a little overweight

Interesting...
So, my doctor wants me to have some allergy testing done with reference to my palps. Because I have no true cardiac issue causing them, he thinks it may be attributed to food and environmental allergies. When he had me logging my palps for several days, I did not log what I was eating as well, I would

Old Hayfever Guide
Hi there I don't know if anyone remembers but Asthma UK used to produce a range of booklets (some years back now I know!) on different asthma related topics plus a specific one on hayfever. I was just wondering if anyone knew whether or not it was possible hold of a copy either in print form or online

Getting food poisoning with hashimotos
Is getting food poisoning dangerous when you have hashimotos? And how do you reverse food poisoning as it just begins to start? Any home remedies? And should I go into the emegency room if I suspect food poisoning?
