Medication
Hi all, Thought I'd post about medication and see what advice you can give me. Basically dihydrocodeine now gives me migraines so I can no longer take it I've been put on sumitriptan for the migraines but it doesn't help if I get the migraine from dihydrocodeine. I saw a rheumatologist who suggested

Dystonia
I am sure many of you suffer from dystonia? I just had my worst attack yet this morning while trying to bake some holiday cookies. The toes on my left foot turned under and I could not walk, had to just crawl to a chair. I tried the normal ice pack on the foot that usually makes it stop, but to no avail

High Blood Pressure
I have recently been diagnosed with high blood pressure and the medication that I am taking is not working well with the Tizanidine that I take at night for spasticity. It makes my blood pressure go to low. My regular doctor wants me to try cyclobenzaprine. Has anyone out there had this problem or has

Spasms
My right leg and arm at night lately have been spasming and jerking so bad! So bad that it's like I can feel the nerve in my limbs starting to be tweaked. Like a tuning fork has hit and my limbs just severely jerk. When it affects my arm,the whole side if my trunk spams like a seizure. It only lasts

It's about time!
It's about time I write something to introduce myself! I was diagnosed in the very beginning of 1990. It all started with vertigo, double vision, trouble swallowing, weakness on one side of my body, extreme nausea. I couldn't even stand and, after a couple of days not being able to keep even water down

tizanidine vs baclofen
I've been on baclofen for going on two years now. I find that it helps but makes my legs feel overly weak and clumsy . Does this happen to any of you out there ? I have read some research on tizanidine and was curious if it is any better . I know everyone reacts differently to meds but I was just trying

Pregabalin (Lyrica)
For my spasticity, I've taken them all, Baclofen, Gabapentin, Tizanidine, 4-AP, 4apmeop. I tried some Lyrica this week. It got me completely stoned out of my head, but for my spasticity, it was quite good. It gave my legs an odd sort of strength, combined with relaxing my muscles just enough. Pretty

Warning, this post contains links. Mods, if this is not allowed, please don't ban me, just delete this post. I always thought the problem was the varicose veins in my legs. I was 36 at the time. I'll get them stripped sooner or later, I thought. Legs got heavier and heavier, I started to fall over

Tizanidine?? Saw pain consultant last wk and he put me on Tizanidine 4mg to start then eventually moving up to 2mg morning & 6 mg at night.
Anyone ever used this medication? Does it work? I have found at the moment it is interfering with my sertraline that I take for night time hallusinations which are horrific. I am also at the present time suffering from extreme sweating my head, face and neck [and rest of body] look like I have just

Re Tizanidine and GCA
Hi everyone, I looked at the studies at the NIH for GCA. There is a new one. Link: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23663684 from the text: "These cytokines activate macrophages, giant cells and vascular smooth muscle cells, thus inducing vascular remodelling which leads to the ischaemic manifestations

Tizanidine -- reduces vasospasm significantly
Hello Everyone, posting this information I have just found from NIH, which is the National Institute of Health in the U.S. a credible government agency: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11086815 It concerns vasospasm in the arteries and taking tizanidine. It is technical. The paper says that tizanidine
