I am struggling with secondary Reynaud's (undifferentiated connective tissue disease) and my fingers/hands are swelling so badly during flares and are causing me terrible pain. It does not seem to be related to cold weather conditions as I get it during warmer weather too. I am on Hydroxychloroquine

Virtual bioequivalence for achlorhydric subjects: The use of PBPK modelling to assess the formulation-dependent effect of achlorhydria
For so many years, patients have been insisting that levothyroxine tablets from different manufacturers, even different dosages from one manufacturer, have different effects on them. Now a paper which pretty clearly shows that stomach acidity is probably a significant factor. Albeit a "virtual" paper

Trial of Nifedipine for Raynaud's
Results: 1. Bright red face and shins 2. Tendancy to topple over 3. Cold hands and feet ( but red nose) Thoughts: not worth it just for a warm nose. Winter is coming.

Sorry, new to site, headache still ongoing, any advice please
Hi I'm still new here as only diagnosed with underactive thyroid last Friday. Started 50mcg Levothyroxine at 7.30am on Saturday morning. By 11am I was starting a headache and although it's not currently as bad as it got to by Saturday evening I do still have a headache. I'm also taking Nifedipine 10mg

Calcium channel blockers?
I'm off to see my GP on Wednesday about my mild hypertension. I suspect he will want me to take some sort of drug. I was hoping I'd be given something that might help my mild Raynaud. Has anybody tried nifedipine or similar drugs for Raynauds, or can recommend something else.

Well, shock and gasp, I actually got an appointment when I should have! A delightful junior doc who said halfway through "I don't need to tell you much at length because you seem clued up". That was after I showed him my legs and asked if those blotches were livedo reticularis. Thank you forum! It's

Primary Raynaud's Syndrome
Hi I'm new here... 18 years old and was diagnosed with Primary Raynaud's last year, I constantly feel cold, my whole body shakes, my feet, knuckles, wrists, hands and lips turn blue, this occurs inside or outside the house and in all seasons of the year. I'm really struggling with dealing with this.

Does anyone recognise this pattern?
I am a fit 56 year old man who was diagnosed with SSc about 15 months ago but didn't really know what that meant having never been ill! Since then I have been on several cocktails of drugs including mycophenolate, hydroxychloroquine, prednisone, nifedipine, lorsartan and recently naproxen, gabapentin

Struggling with sildenafil
Hi - I've been prescribed sildenafil to take alongside nifedipine for secondary Raynaud's (I have scleroderma - LSSc - and Sjogren's syndrome - all fairly mild, thankfully) and am finding the side effects really hard to deal with. Banging heart, anxiety, headache, dizziness, dry mouth are the main ones
