Are you surprised? Half of all liver specialists are not confident discussing lifestyle change with patients.
In a recent survey of medical professionals only half said they were confident about having THE TALK with
NASH
patients. What has your experience been like?

Diagnosed with “mild” NASH
is it true that if I have
NASH
all I should or can do is lose weight and not worry too much? I got no other advice from my GI’s physician assistant! Not asking for medical advice, just clarification. Thanks!

As 2018 is flying by - how do we find liver disease before it becomes cirrhosis and threatens to kill us? Can we? Should we? Your thoughts?
The high degree of co-morbidity of
NASH
and diabetes is well known and up to 70% of T2D patients have undiagnosed liver disease. There is a lot of data about the co-morbid nature of liver disease.

NASH, with severe nausea and vomiting.
I have had
NASH
for a long time but recently I’ve lost nearly 3 stones in 6 months caused by the nausea and sickness and exacerbated by more recent pain from a horrible biopsy I had on my tongue.

Can you tell when they don't care if you die?
The Foundation is patient focused on fatty liver and
NASH
leading to cirrhosis which is just one of many liver diseases. The American Liver Foundation covers all liver disease so we are logical collaborators but with a different focus.

"The most frustrating thing about being diagnosed with fatty liver or NASH is…" what bothered you the most?
The most frustrating thing about being diagnosed with
NASH
for me was when the doctor just said: "you have cirrhosis, sorry we have no treatment". I eventually learned that really meant we have no pill, but the idea that we have no treatment is just wrong.

Newbie saying hello
I just had a liver biopsy yesterday to try an determine if my NAFLD has progressed to
NASH
or if my severe inflammation is from something else. I should know in a week. Thank goodness for my astute APRN who pushed for me to see my hepatologist.

Do fibrosis and NASH have the same treatments/managements?
But most of the info I see on here in particular as well as most other places is about
NASH
, which i believe is stage 2. Is it worth my time to try the
NASH
treatments and ways to manage, or does fibrosis require a difference approach?

NASH & Bariatric Surgery
I've just been diagnosed with an advanced case of
NASH
, right on the cusp of cirrhosis. My doctors all say I should have bariartric surgery as soon as I can. Have any of you out there gotten the same recom-mendation, and if so, what did you decide, and how did it work out?

Experts to the left, Experts to the right, into the valley of death ride the 6 million NASH patients
When the mortality statistics correctly include the comorbidities of
NASH
and cirrhosis, this time will be reckoned as the greatest mass death in human history.

Diabetes is a common comorbidity with NASH and diet management is similar since sugar damages the liver
https://medivizor.com/view_article/11147602 All people with diabetes are recommended to limit refined carbohydrates (like sugary snacks), saturated fats (such as those found in meat and dairy), and salt. Unrefined carbohydrates (such as brown rice) and unsaturated fats should be eaten instead. Reducing

Did you know that 90% of health care professionals think NASH is often missed? How do you feel about that?
A recent survey of primary care, internists, and hepatologists about how well they thought the profession was dealing with the liver disease epidemic indicates that we have a very serious problem just diagnosing the illness. The consequence is that people get sicker than they had to before their illness
