What levodopa teaches us...
"What is science? Learn from science that you must doubt the experts ... Science is the belief in the ignorance of the experts. Every generation that discovers something from its experience must pass it on, but it must do so with a delicate balance between respect and disrespect..." Richard Feynman,

Autopsies tell us the secrets of Parkinson's...
The brains of Parkinson's patients tell us some of the secrets of the disease at autopsy... "For History must be our deliverer, not only from the undue influence of other times, but from the undue influence of our own, from the tyranny of environment and the pressure of the air we breathe". Acton.

Can we prevent, slow or halt, improve symptoms and reduce the severity of Parkinson's?

Please give me your input/advice!
I finally found a hepatologist and I had a Fibroscan done and a full
Nash
type bloodwork panel done. The blood work was a little abnormal and put me at stage F0, indicating no fibrosis. However, the scan indicated F2 fibrosis with average stiffness of 6.45 kpa and maximum stiffness at 8.71 kpa.

Diagnosed with
NASH
in 2014. Initially told F3, via biopsy. Later a retraction was made that stated the biopsy was faulty and a stage could not be determined. Fibroscans in 2017, 2019, 2020 were 4.3; 6.6(CAP 259); and 7.0 (CAP 230); respectively.

Levodopa vs. Mucuna Pruriens, How Similar Are They And Which One Is More Effective?
These two are discussed quite frequently on the forum so I decided to do some reading about them. Some members have reported better effects with Mucuna Pruriens (MP) while others are quite happy with Levodopa (L-Dopa) and see no need to to try anything else. Some on this forum have mentioned previously

Plan your holidays
For the record, i'm 2 months into F3 advanced fibrosis (
Nash
) with an A1-A2 level of inflammation activity. AST is normal ALT is 56. BMI is 27.1 Already changed the diet. If I can lose 5 more pounds i will have lost 10% of my BW before getting my Jan testing.

Biopsy Result Back
The bad news is that it does confirm the diagnosis of
NASH
. Obviously a low alcohol and healthy diet push now is needed. I'm meeting with a consultant with a special interest in the management of
NASH
in a few weeks. Onwards. Hopefully reversible.
