⁹Overwhelmed... loss of mobility and medical negligence
This isn't a story I like to talk about or even think about but its the reality I've been forced to live. As with far too many people who have suffered with endo, I've been ignored, dismissed, minimilised and even told it was all in my head when it very obviously wasn't. Imagination doesn't create visible

Lumps in belly button after laparoscopic surgery
Hi, I am just over 2 weeks post op from my excision of endometriosis surgery, and I was wondering if anyone had come across this with their belly button after laparoscopic surgery and may know what it could be and if it’s something I need to get checked out. the lump is gradually getting bigger. My

Anxiety is back as bad as ever
Hi all, not doing well at all lately regarding anxiety. I know the reason but that doesn’t help. I have recently been told that I’m pre diabetic and that I have CKD both thought to be due to heart meds. Then the other day, out of the blue, another call from surgery regarding cholesterol results. All

Macular Hole
Hi, long term PMR/GCA sufferer been on 4mg for long enough and staying there! However I developed a macular hole which needed surgery. Has anyone else had this problem, is there likely any association of cause with GCA /PMR or Pred? Surgery done now and I have to wait and see how successful it is.

Speechless by my GP’s response
I messaged my GP surgery and requested a full thyroid blood test (not just TSH which is all I’ve been able to get since COVID) as well as iron, vits B and D tests. I’ve been feeling really rotten, and want to look at every potential reason. Now, bear in mind I have been on HRT (prescribed by them) for

Doctor refusing to increase levo, says I should not have been put on it in the first place (it was "against his better judgement")
Argh, I've just had an incredibly frustrating and upsetting phone consultation after 8 weeks on 50mcg of levothyroxine. I was on a starter dose of 25mcg for the 8 weeks before that. Current/past levels TSH level (range 0.570-3.6) 3.169 mU/L 13 Nov 2023 1.841 mU/L 21 Sep 2023 3.730 mU/L

Good Morning everyone, just trying to understand to make sure it isn’t just me. But has anyone suffered with depression and PTSD after series heart surgery, because I have and wanted to make sure I wasn’t alone, although I do at times feel depressed, I was 17 when I had surgery. And just now wanted advice

Thyroxine dose reduced without my knowledge
Hello, I have been hypothyroid for around 15 years. For the past few years I've been taking 100mgs of Levothyroxine every day. I collected my usual repeat prescription for various medications a few days ago, and my Levo was missing. I queried it with the pharmacist, who told me my doctor had cancelled

Hyperthyroid help
Hi Everyone, The last time I posted was sometime last year, when I had been taken off 5mg carbimazole and had been discharged from the hospital back to my GP. Fast forward a year. I had blood tests last week (14.11.23) only to discover that my T3 is 20.1 pmol/L, previously 4.6 pmol/L (Sept) and TSH

urethral constriction
Had chemo and then cystectomy 10 years ago. Last few years, kidney stones then UTIs, until lithotripsy for the stones. But have urethral constriction, so every 4 month I have stents put through my stoma. Has anyone heard of, or had the procedure done for the constriction using Optilume? Supposedly

fibroelastoma near aortic valve discovered on checkup when symptomless
Hi everyone, I had an echocardiogram to assess damage to heart for other drugs for a blood condition. It showed a fibroelastoma 7mm x7mm next to the aortic valve, and I have been told I need open heart surgery to remove it and likely replacement of the valve. I have numerous complicating issues related

Bob update (ICD wound revision)
I was in hospital again yesterday. This was scheduled, following the appearance of Bob and a few friends. Bob was the pet name for a pointy lump next to my clavicle and above my ICD. He was at risk of puncturing through the skin. You can learn about Bob's appearance (or if you are a bit more hip, [i]
