Myocarditis - new here
Hello, I’m glad I’ve found this chat as I feel pretty isolated with this new condition. My story sounds like some I’ve read on here: I spent a week in hospital 7 weeks ago following a very painful episode of heartburn - which turned out to be my stomach but a blood test revealed high troponins. Since

22 years old with Myocarditis
I was diagnosed with
myocarditis
in December 2023. It’s been a scary time. I’ve been doing slow walks but generally avoiding doing much activity. I have just had an MRI scan which shows that my heart is still clearly affected by the infection.

Heart attack with no surgery
Hi, Still coming to terms with the news of having had a heart attack as I had been told I probably had
myocarditis
(ECG, Doppler, arteries ok). I am pretty ignorant about the whole topic (no one in my family has ever had heart issues) and thought that every HA was followed by surgery.

I have long covid and for months I’ve suffered debilitating symptoms of arhythmia and breathlessness and exhaustion on exercise Finally after an MRI scan of heart I have been told I have
myocarditis
. Does anyone have experience of this being caused by covid?

MRI results and wrong diagnosis?
I finally had my appointment with the cardiologist today and she told me that I don’t have
Myocarditis
in the end but had a “mini heart attack”. I broke down when she told me 😥. She said it’s one of the smaller veins and not the arteries. She seemed surprised and even annoyed by my reaction.

Gestational diabetes and heart conditions
I've currently just got to monitor my diet and blood sugars, I also have hypothyroidism (been controlled for a while now) So with my heart issues (small hole, a cardiac arrest and heart attack, and recovered from
myocarditis
) is there anything else I should do to look after myself diet wise, or anything

how long before walking again
Hi, I’m supposed to have
Myocarditis
(still awaiting MRI results) and 7 weeks in still feel awful when I try to walk more than just a few steps at a time. For example today, i walked into a pharmacy and out and although my heart wasn’t racing (85 bpm), I felt very short of breath.

Why do certain posts get removed?
There are a few posts about people experiencing a cardiomyopathy/
myocarditis
as a result of a viral infection or related to a particular virus, and when you try to go to the link they have been removed, even though they aren't anti vaxs.

myocarditis: your advice worked; I’m pronounced well!
Dear Forum members, I’m writing today to thank you for all your excellent advice and support during my long, hard journey with
myocarditis
. You explained how important it is to rest and rest some more, even when feeling better.

Is it just me or there are lots of young people posting about heart failure, Myocarditis and HA?
Is it normal for 20 year olds to be posting about heart failure and
Myocarditis
in the last 2 years? We can not hide the fact that the 'you know what' could have been one of the reasons. I am in my 50's and I inherited my heart condition and I know it.
