Extreme Fatigue/beta blockers?

it’s been almost 6 months now since being diagnosed with myocarditis and I had clear mri end of jan and completed exercise stress test on 14 Feb with no issues. Cardiology signed me off but said keep on my bisoprasol and ramipril (I’m only on 1.25 of both as they seem to make things very low for me)

my worry is are they now doing more damage? I’m not progressing with energy levels or exercise tolerance even though on paper I’ve been signed off.

My BP averages 90/55 most days and resting heart rate low 50’s

I’m struggling to do Pilates or go about my day as I’m floored by fatigue.

Or is this normal post myo also.

Hello :-)

I am not going through what you are which I am sorry to hear how you are feeling

I do take Bisoprolol only a small dose but makes me tired

I wonder if you had a talk with the BHF Nurses if they will be able to give you some good advice as they are very good

I will put you their number on :-) x

I just had a chat with a friend who mentioned that her husband has days when he falls asleep constantly; no energy and she struggles to wake him. He responds to her then he's straight back asleep. It turns out he's taking bisopralol and his medication has never been checked; just more and more added as time goes on. I was just the same when given bisopralol after my heart attack. I barely had the energy to get out of the recliner. I told her to check his BP when he was like that and it had dropped far too low. He's seeing a nurse at the gP Practice tomorrow -if he can stay awake long enough to get here. Beta blockers can cause extreme tiredness and lack of energy. In his case it coud be one of his other meds but judging by how I was when taking it, he certainly needs checking.

thanks so much for your reply. Such a rotten drug isn’t it!! Hope we all get out of the bisoprasol fog soon!

Take care

Liz
