22 years old with Myocarditis
I was diagnosed with
myocarditis
in December 2023. It’s been a scary time. I’ve been doing slow walks but generally avoiding doing much activity. I have just had an MRI scan which shows that my heart is still clearly affected by the infection.

Heart attack with no surgery
Hi, Still coming to terms with the news of having had a heart attack as I had been told I probably had
myocarditis
(ECG, Doppler, arteries ok). I am pretty ignorant about the whole topic (no one in my family has ever had heart issues) and thought that every HA was followed by surgery.

Myocarditis - new here
Hello, I’m glad I’ve found this chat as I feel pretty isolated with this new condition. My story sounds like some I’ve read on here: I spent a week in hospital 7 weeks ago following a very painful episode of heartburn - which turned out to be my stomach but a blood test revealed high troponins. Since

Why do certain posts get removed?
There are a few posts about people experiencing a cardiomyopathy/
myocarditis
as a result of a viral infection or related to a particular virus, and when you try to go to the link they have been removed, even though they aren't anti vaxs.

MRI results and wrong diagnosis?
I finally had my appointment with the cardiologist today and she told me that I don’t have
Myocarditis
in the end but had a “mini heart attack”. I broke down when she told me 😥. She said it’s one of the smaller veins and not the arteries. She seemed surprised and even annoyed by my reaction.

Covid booster this autumn and AF
Ive also had MRI and CT scans of heart and various heart investigations which showed I had
myocarditis
probably caused by catching Covid and still suffering from long Covid. Ive read that the Covid vaccine can cause
myocarditis
and AF as a reaction so am unwilling to take another dose.

myocarditis: your advice worked; I’m pronounced well!
Dear Forum members, I’m writing today to thank you for all your excellent advice and support during my long, hard journey with
myocarditis
. You explained how important it is to rest and rest some more, even when feeling better.

how long before walking again
Hi, I’m supposed to have
Myocarditis
(still awaiting MRI results) and 7 weeks in still feel awful when I try to walk more than just a few steps at a time. For example today, i walked into a pharmacy and out and although my heart wasn’t racing (85 bpm), I felt very short of breath.

Feeling of obstruction/ lump in your throat any fellow myocarditis peps?
Hi lovely people. I'm seemingly having a bit of a flare up of symptoms again atm. One of the things I'm experiencing more consistently is a feeling of having a sort of obstruction/ lump in my throat.. though more upper chest than throat.. does anyone else experience this? Any ideas what causes it.. maybe

Post HA breathing and rehabilitation
hello again, So as I wrote in another post, I’m now facing the fact of having had a “minor” HA (and NOT
Myocarditis
as I was told for 2,5 months). Anyway, I’ve been resting as much as possible for weeks - not that I had the choice for I wasn’t able to walk much due to poor breathing.
