Lupkynis approved in Switzerland to treat adults with lupus nephritis
Findings suggested that Lupkynis helped preserve kidney function when given alongside
mycophenolate
mofetil and low-dose steroids (well-established anti-inflammatory therapies for lupus), without substantially increased safety risks.

Methotrexate for the summer
He also encouraged me to try
Mycophenolate
or Azathioprine and ended up prescribing me Myfortic . I was due to start it last Sunday but really didn’t have a good feeling about it when, apart from the unsightly rash from head to toe, I felt the best I’ve been in about 2 years.

NICE recommends voclosporin to treat lupus nephritis
NICE have made a recommendation to the NHS that a new treatment, voclosporin, can be used in combination with
mycophenolate
mofetil (MMF) to treat some patients with lupus nephritis. This is only the second treatment developed specifically for lupus to be approved in within the UK. Exciting stuff!

IPF or idiopathic ILD?
I'm conscious there can be serious implications if they have this wrong as certain drugs used for ILD (like
mycophenolate
mofetil, which I'm on) can actually do damage to people with IPF. Grateful for any thoughts or advice anyone has to share. TIA.

Scalp & Feet
hello to all, I am still at the relative early stages of my scleroderma journey and beginning to notice red patches on my scalp and feet that come and go - I am never to sure if this is disease related or medication side effects (
mycophenolate
& prednisolone).

Brother in hospital with pulmonary fibrosis
He was on
mycophenolate
but the side effects were intolerable. I'm so worried. I think he has been protecting me re the severity of his condition. Google has been my friend but the information was not very positive. Decided to speak to his consultant and now feeling devastated.

SLE patients may have reduced response to COVID-19 vaccination
The use of the immunosuppressant medications CellCept (
mycophenolate
mofetil), tacrolimus and Benlysta (belimumab) significantly reduced IgG levels after vaccination.

2 questions
I take
mycophenolate
mofetil 500 mg and I’m at the stage where I’m planning on getting pregnant in a few years time. I know the drug I’m currently on isn’t good during pregnancy so in that case will have to change it at some point.

Update - starting prednisolone & mycophenolate - any tips?
I'm starting on prednisolone for 4 weeks and
Mycophenolate
for 6 months. I've not taken steroids or any other DMARDs except HCQ in the 7 years since I was diagnosed. I'm a bit scared, any tips to manage side effects? I work in schools, I'm worried about infections, should I be worried?

Impact on your life by taking immunosuppressants?
After my 6m follow up with Professor Denton, he advised I start with hydroxychloroquine (for 4m until my baby is weaned off the breast when he is 12m old) and then straight onto
mycophenolate
. I'm curious whether you've had to make adjustments around your life being on immunosuppressants.

Zanubrutinib journey
Steroids and
Mycophenolate
ineffective at managing platelets. Platelets are now managed with Eltrombopag with a count in the 60's. CLL is slowly returning. Lymphocytes now 11. Current plan is to see how long Eltrombopag lasts and then look around for options ... not sure what?
