At my wits end, daughter hasn’t opened her bowels for 2 1/2 weeks.
We have found that
Movicol
is not making any difference know matter what dose be it 2 sachets or 12 sachets. For the past year her bowels movements are every 2 1/2 - 3 weeks and when she does go it is ginormous. We have been told to just keep up with the
Movicol
or enema when needed.

Severe impaction told to use lactulose then Movicol
Going over to
Movicol
now as the lactulose isn't working. I have the sachets but no idea how many to take or for how long. Any advice would be gratefully received. I'm male, aged 51, non smoker, go walking lots and on feet at work, taking Lansoprazole for 10 years.

Internal Rectal Prolapse and Resulting Obstructed Defecation
My GP is very sympathetic but doesn't really have any answers apart from take 6 sachets of
movicol
at once if I can't go which works, but means I have to stay in the house close to the toilet all day.

4 Year Old small bladder capacity, how to help him, always urgently needing to go.
Referred to paediatrition who said he's constipated, I'm not convinced as he goes for a poo happily and comfortably once or twice a day, however we have started
Movicol
now anyway.

4 year old still soiling after a disimpaction and maintenance dose.
His maintenance dose of
movicol
has stayed the same but we dropped out of the toilet time routine as he didn't seem to need it anymore. However, over the last couple of weeks we've noticed him soiling again, just small amounts in his pants, soft and very sticky and smelly.

10 year old, bowel problems
Between the ages of 4 and 5 he had a few courses of
movicol
as GP thought that soiling might be due to constipation. It didn't really help, but he became better able to make it to the toilet on time.

3.5 year old on movicol
I have a little girl who has just been on
movicol
for the last month. After a good cleanout she's on half to one sachet a day. She passes stool regularly (everyday sometimes the odd day off) but now they're rounder in shape and all different sizes.

4yr old - suspected constipation?! Please help us.
We were prescribed
movicol
laxatives and were told to do a disimpaction which lasted 2 weeks. Following this he was a bit better, going every other day and good consistency whilst on 3 sachets of laxatives, however still bouts of overflow soiling inbetween.

Potty time and poo withholding
She has been on
movicol
since June 2018 and we have been through disimpactions and playing with the dose to get it right and have now found that potty training and having a proper toileting routine has actually really helped her!

4 year old soiling troubles.
He's been on
movicol
but that's made it worse, I'm not even sure if it is constipation as it's not like a leakage in his pants it's always quite abit and it's stodgy so I'm really not sure!

Help! Poo withholding!

Psychotherapist wanted
What’s been happening over the past 18 months or so is that we keep her bowels moving for extended periods of time (e.g. 3 months) using
Movicol
and then as soon as we start reducing the maintenance dose and our daughter begins to regain control, she withholds and we go back to square one (i.e. constipation

4 year old boy withholding and not wanting to poo on the toilet
He’s now using
movicol
sachets daily that I give him at night as I don’t want him having accidents at nursery. He tends to go most mornings but in his nappy before he wakes. On the advice of ‘Eric’ we do toilet time every night after a shower or if I see him needing to go.

With holding nightmare for 6 year old
Hi, my son is 6 and only poos every 2-3 weeks after a few doses of either
movicol
or ducolax, longest he has held it in for is 6 weeks. Drs just say it idiopathic constipation from being a baby which has developed into withholding.
