Magnesium citrate- always works! Might take a while to get going but helps me a lot.

Who decided you have to have a bm every day? I think if the general public were polled, the average would be between 3 and 6 per 7 day week. However, in order to make your bm softer and more comfortable, you should drink at least 2-2.5 litres of water per day and should try to walk for about 1 mile per day. Those that need more help, via their diet, can try prunes, with prune juice (eugh) or 2 Kiwi fruits per day (yum). After that it is generally down the medicinal route. Good luck, and, btw, I have 3 bms per week (it was once in 7 days, rectified, eventually, with diet).

I use metamucil. Works great for diarrhea too. Plenty of water and a healthy diet is always recommended.

I started the FODMAP diet and started eating gluten free food, I’ve not diarrhoea for 19 days now, and I’ve had normal bowel movements everyday (Types 3-5 on the Bristol stool chart)

I tried everything and the only thing that works is Dulcolax

I take it most days now (my mother was the same) and have done for a number of years.

I know some people will warn against this but it’s that or becoming horribly constipated.

I drink lots of water, eat a balanced (high fibre) diet and am physically active.

I suffer from hypothyroidism and constipation seems part of ‘the package’

I would suggest seeing your dr. I know everybody goes but I live at my drs., I can suggest senna or maybe enemas not pleasant but very effective, for these you would need a Prescription for the enemas. Foods would be prunes, raisins, figs, cat free jelly, to name but a few. I wish you the best of luck and health
