A dignified journey
Hi all, I just wanted to pop on here to express my sincere appreciation for this site. I haven't really participated here, but have found it to be a wealth of information while transitioning through the different stages of my dad's PSP journey. Alongside that, it has been really remarkable to know there

PROOF THAT MADOPAR ACTUALLY WORKS .... (for me).
Over the past several months, I have begun to notice that my legs are starting to ache after I have been walking for a considerable amount of time. This afternoon it became much worse, to the point of actual quite serious pain. (And I can't for the life of me, believe how I could have been so astoundingly

Madopar - does anyone take it?
I was on Pergolide for 18 years. Wonderful. Cured my restless legs until they took it off the market. Now my neurosurgeon has given me Madopar which doesn’t touch the problem. Help!

Gabapentin causing itch?
Hi all again, I have been on Gabapentin twice a day from my skin over--sensitization issues and half a madopar at night for the hypnic jerks and everything else. Madopar shortage
Boots in the UK tell me they cannot supply Madopar 100/25 capsules at the moment because of a problem at the manufacturers. They do not know when it will be available again. Anyone else been told this?

Madopar Advice
Need advice on those taking Madopar (or similar). My main symptoms rigidity in back and legs - with a continuous cramp in my feet. I take 125mg x 3 times per day. I really only feel "off" after I take the Madopar. About 20-40 mins after taking the tablet I get serious cramps in back/legs/feet for a period

B1 experience so far!
Hello all. I have been tuning in to everyone's experiences since I joined in March 2018. At that time my husband was diagnosed with PD and as I am the more able one with computers I have been reading listening to your experiences and researching your valuable advice. We have had quite the roller coaster

Getting off Madopar
I really want to get off Madopar and it’s augmentation, and try to treat my legs with diet alone. Any suggestions? Have you successfully broken the crazy cycle of taking Madopar for rls then having to take it for the rebound effect of the medication? TIA!!

Size of apo pump
Hi I was dx with young onset PD in 2003 aged 46. I'm now 62 and have kept on top of it by gradually upping the madopar . In the last few months madopar's effectiveness has dropped right off and my consultant says there is ni more room to tweak my medication or increase the madopar. To my distress

Yom Kippur fasting while on Madopar?
Just wondering if anyone has advice for me, in first year of taking Madopar. I take 3 25/100 each day. Still early stage. Tonight/tomorrow is a 26 hour fast for the Yom Kippur Jewish holiday (yes, some holiday not eating or drinking!). In recent years, mainly because of getting older and being on some

Overdose of Madopar CR - urgent help please
Please can someone answer or help. My Mum is in hospital and I discovered they’ve been giving her Madopar CR 100/25 (sustained release) all day instead of her Madopar 100/25 (blue and white) pills all day. If they’ve got it wrong at every dose, she’s probably had 4 Madopar CR during the day; she usually

Taking Madopar (2)
I'm not surprised you thought my post of a couple of days ago weird, Motherfather, I left out any mention of the medicine I've been on for some time now. So here's what I intended to write (I blame the PD!). I live in the UK and so am blessed to be under the care of a Parkinson's Disease Nurse.
