The nature of pain in Parkinson’s
Hi folks. My foot is killing me😕, and I sense that I’m getting achey fingers for some reason. The foot definitely has ‘tender’ points which points to tissue damage but I know that this is related to my PD. So my question is ‘where does pain in PD reside?’ Madopar blunts it somewhat but certainly doesn

, sinemet etc...The supplementation in dopamine seems to be the only response to P.D for most neurologists in France . This website relates new approaches but it seems that the sale of synthetic dopamine is a precious market!!

Diagnosed 2005. On Madopar since then Symmetrical and Zadago added Exenatide Injections on and off weekly for last 2 years and again (off). Monitor my own daily usage of Madopar Yesterday began the daily routine at 6.00am of Madopar 125 X 1. As I had special arrangements for the day decided to keep

Hi All I've posted before about Madopar and Sinemet not working for me and it's still not doing a great deal to help. At my 6-monthly chat with my neurologist recently I was keen to explore with him other issues like :- 1. Is he sure it's PD (could it be MSA or another PD+ mimic?) 2. Homeopathic / alternative

I need help in finding a neurologist in Sydney open to talking about Mucuna Prurience and green tea
I was diagnosed with PD 6 years ago and up to now have not really taken Madopar for PD. The neurologist did put me on 3 by 250mg of madopar at night for my restless legs. Whether that dampened my PD symptoms during the day or not I do not know. The Madopar became ineffective and for the last two weeks

Stutter as a PD symptom
I am relatively new to this forum and this is the first time that I am posting something. I am 58 years old and was dx with PD approx. 2 years ago. I started with Azilect 1mg per day which helped a little bit but not for long. Now and since 4 months I am on half a Madopar tablet 250mg for 3 x per day

Monitoring devices
Can anyone recommend an app or wearable device that accurately tracks tremor etc. My symptoms seem unrelated to Madopar dose and timing in that in the evening after several hours without medication I can be steady and other times after medication my tremor is apparent. It would be useful to see this

Madopar VS Sinemet
My MDS decided to switch me to Madopar after my 5yrs horrible experiences (side effects) with various grades of Sinemet. He is aware that Zandopa (a brand of Mucuna) gives me far better relief (based on my testimony) than the Sinemet. Hence, he doesn't have any issue with my mucuna usage and even prescribed

Shall I buy a car? AKA how long have I got doc?
Slightly tongue in cheek title but basically a genuine question... I’m 58. I first noticed clear symptoms (as opposed to those you realise with hindsight might have been earlier indicators) in 1/2015. Officially dx a year later 1/16 and started on 1mg pd of Rasagiline Then 15 months later (5/17) started

Still not convinced it’s PD
Further to my previous post about Madopar not working I’ve decided to wean myself off meds altogether for a while in an attempt to get a definitive idea before my next appointment with the neurologist as to what effect (if any) they’ve been having. I’ve been told that the only way to effectively diagnose

Supplements Useless
The latest “Annals of Internal Medicine” has a report on the effects of Supplements for cardiac problems, finding them all but one useless.* The study involved 24 supplements used by a million people, and mirrors another similar study in 2013. I suspect the same is true for supplements taken for Parkinson

Wallowing in the Trough of Carbidopa and Benserazide
I hesitate to even start a thread that is heresy to many, many PD sufferers, many self proclaimed pharmacologists/biochemists on this forum and many of their physicians as well. It is all about a couple of PD drugs that can go very deadly if used inappropriately. Please realize, if you can do so, that

Changing Sinemet to Madopar : bad experiences ??
Hi everybody ! Due to the unbelievable fact that Sinemet no longer will be available in Switzerland, I had to change from Dopadura 25/100 (that I already toke as a replacement for Sinemet 25/100) to Madopar 125 (25/100) also three times a day. Since about 5 days the stiffness is getting worse and also

Madopar not working. Have I really got PD?
Hi All I was diagnosed with Idiopathic PD in Feb ‘18 and put on a course of Madopar which, in varying doses, I’ve been on since. The Madopar simply doesn’t seem to have any effect and I can genuinely not make any distinction between how I feel after having taken a dose and (for example) 1st thing in

Does anyone have any sleeping remedies or meds that work?
I was taking Endep (which gave me a full night's sleep) but my Neurologist changed me from Stalevo (which was giving me Dyskenesia) to Madopar + Xadago. But I had to cease the Endep as he said it could conflict with the Xadago, which is a fairly new drug that is still being trialled. He prescribed Paxam
