My Dr. Never heard of CBD oil!

So, I went to my gastroenterologist and he ordered a ultrasound of my liver because he felt my last one was getting old. I asked him about using CBD oil, for other medical problems that I have and I asked him if it would hurt my liver. He never even heard of it!!! I was completely shocked and not believing that he's never heard of medical cannabis or CBD oil. When I research online I find articles that say it can raise your liver enzymes and then I find other articles that it's good for your liver so I don't know what to do. My liver enzymes are mildly elevated now. Any input is always appreciated.

Get a new doctor. CBD research isn't advanced enough for me to consider but shows some promise.

He wants to do a colonoscopy but I'm not sure if I feel comfortable with him doing it. I live in a small town so I need to research and try to find another one.

If he is a gastro doc it is probably his specialty so perhaps a good choice. Most of those docs don't learn much about liver disease. Getting care in a small town is a challenge. I had to drive 300 miles to get to a hepatologist before I got diagnosed properly.

I have read articles both for and against CBD oil for liver health. Given that the jury is still out on it, I will not use it. I take very few supplements, prefering diet over them, and doing an hour of cardio exercise daily.
