Free PSA & Biochemical Recurrence
New study below [1]. I doubt that many in the group who know their PSA level also know their percent free PSA [%fPSA]. Some might remember their %fPSA before diagnosis. A %fPSA <25 meant that there was a high risk of PCa. With a high %fPSA, one might skip the biopsy. However, in the setting of biochemical

RP v. RT ... yet again
New Canadian study below [1]. It's a divisive topic. Studies show that men are more likely to opt for RT (radiation therapy) if they first go to an oncologist, whereas men are more likely to opt for RP (radical prostatectomy) if they first see a urologist. There are bias allegations against urologists

Anyone taking Darolutamide develope asthenia, a known side effect? I've read similar SEs with Xtandi, so is this with all lutamide drugs?
My husband, who is mCRPC started Darolutamide 1 month ago. Shortly after, he started to become more weak in his legs, esp his knees. Last week, after taking Darolutamide for 3-1/2 weeks he suddenly developed asthenia (abnormal physical weakness or lack of energy). I had to run out and buy him a walker

Does radiation/brachytherapy prevent my use of insulin pump, which radiation can damage?
Do I need to be concerned with radiation impacts on my insulin pump after prostate-area radiation treatment? I’m diabetic and use a Medtronic 670 hybrid insulin pump with a separate continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) sensor/transmitter. To prevent radiation damage to pump and CGM transmitter, I remove

Painkillers for CKD people.
I experience severe arthritic pain and have so far managed to put up with it. Recently it has gotten so bad I'm struggling to suppress it. Are there any pain relief prescription drugs that are kidney tolerant, other than paracetamol medication? Paracetamol just doesn't do anything for me. I looked into

Post Vasectomy issues
vasectomy issues, reading the internet before the procedure I should not notice much difference after. 1) ejaculations are now watery. 2) Orgasm's have highly reduced in strength. Is this correct?

PMR or something else??? Please help!!
My mother has had PMR for over 2 years and has recently weaned off the steroids on drs orders. Blood tests show negative for PMR now. But she is experiencing consistent very bad pain in arms and legs. While still on the steroids Dr upped her dose to try and help, but it did nothing, so he continued

On the “horns of a dilemma” re Alendronic Acid 😳
Your thoughts/ experience would be welcome please. My situation: diagnosed with PMR Dec2019. Pred dose 15, increased to 17.5 for a couple of weeks, now symptoms controlled at 15 hoping to decrease to 13.5 next week. Blood tests also indicated I am pre-diabetic, just overweight with BMI 26. Now signed

Bitterness & Rubbery
If I take it 3 nights in a row I’ll feel kinda rubbery if that makes sense. I use medical marijuana nightly and only use zoplicone if I awaken and can’t fall back to sleep. Any “hacks” out there for the bitter taste?? G

Any suggestions about choosing a surgeon?
My 2nd post and thank you all for providing the detailed info in the previous one. My dad has decided to opt for radical prostatectomy. Do you have any specific surgeon in the UK that you would recommend? I am not quite certain about the criteria for choosing the best surgeon. Does the positive margin

Advice please?
Hi, I was told I had osteoporosis in May 2018. My scores were: Femur neck: T score -1.1, Z score -0.1 Spine: T score -2.5 Z score -1.4 Looking at the charts, my interpretation is that my hip is just in the osteopenia range and my spine just in the osteoporosis range. If it hadn't been that I started
