I have no thyroid or parathyroid due to thyroid cancer many years ago. Now just having ab fib diagnosed I am having to take Apixaban,Flecainide acetate along with Propanolol. I also take Rovuvastatin( also thyroxine & adcal. ) I am not feeling at all well on theses meds - is it suitable & necessary to take all these things ?

Morning. As you’ve been prescribed them, I’d say yes. My mum’s thyroid didn’t function and she had AF. She was on Apixaban to prevent clots and consequent strokes ...but only after having a TIA so she had a near miss there! Also a betablocker (Bisoprolol) to make it easier for her heart to pump and an ARB (candesartan in her case) for her BP.

The BHF website explains what the meds are for and how they work and the BHF nurses are brilliant. Their helpline number is 0800 330 3311, office hours.

I don't know because I'm not a Doctor or any other sort of clinician. What you might consider it talking to a Pharmacist. They are knowledgeable about the different drug interactions. They won't necessarily be able to say whether you need all of them, but it may give you a starting point to talk to the GP
