Forgetful.....
It's probably been asked before but........in 2012 I spent over 4 months in hospital with decompensated Liver. All I remember is the liver biopsy and a sample of bone marrow being taken as to very low rbc. This was diagnosed as pure red blood aplasia on top of cirrhosis of the liver. That is all I remember

THREE MONTHS ON ...
Following a flu injection at the end of September 2015 ... I began to feel unwell approx 10 days later with what I know now as the classic symptoms of PMR ! The first GP I saw unfortunately did not recognise the symptoms, so I suffered without any medication for a month until ... I requested a second

Airplane Travel
After 27 years of marriage, my wife and I are going to take the honeymoon we never had. We're going to Honolulu on our anniversary in a few weeks. We're in the middle of flu season. I've had my flu shot and all my pneumonia vaccinations ,but is there anything I can effectively do to protect myself

Hate needles? Needle free vaccinations are on their way!
Good news for those of us that hate needles, or who have family members that do and are reluctant to have vaccinations to protect themselves (and us). Pleasant result!
Hi again everyone, since my post of 8 days ago I have seen my rhuemy and he has restored my faith in him looking after me. I am happy to report that he was very understanding and listened sympathetically to all I had to say. I told him I'd met with the pharmacist before Christmas and have got my MTX

APS AND FLU
I have a regular flu jab but still appear to have caught flu this year. As I am on Warfarin I am being very careful what I take and self monitor my INR. But cannot find anything to relieve the symptoms. Have spoken to the surgery but they were not much help. My family think I should call out a Dr but

10 THINGS NEVER TO SAY TO A BRITTLE ASTHMATIC
1. "Aren't you worried about all the meds you're on?" Not if it means I can breathe, no! 2. "You should try x inhaler, that's what I use." I already have. 3. "*I* have the flu but *I* still came to college.." Yes, and I hate you because of it! 4. "Just calm down and focus on your breathing

Pneumonia jab
I have had ME for 26 years, Fibro for 6 and now RA it seems. In all that time I have never had a flu jab. I was advised by various alternative and conventional medics that with auto immune conditions, immunisations can be more disruptive to the system than helpful. My doctor has now suggested I have

Feeling miserable
On Saturday afternoon I can almost pinpoint the time when my cough started and muscles began to ache. Since a few friends and neighbours had been ill over the past few weeks, I knew that The flu virus had invaded my body. Only three weeks ago I had my flu vacination, either it hasn't worked or this particular

FLU JAB AND STATINS
Hi was reading the other day where it said that if you are taking cholesterol lowering lowering medication like Simvastatin, it lowers the defences of the flu injection. Interesting , just about everyone with COPD has the flu injection, and I bet a big percentage of them also take statins !! Neo
