Excellent, at last I'll have some evidence to point at when I explain for the billionth time to some well meaning person why I wouldn't dream of getting a flu shot.

My other half, now retired from nursing, was practically coerced into having one every year by her ward manager. Didn't seem to make a bit of difference but everyone was so sure it must reduce sickness absence it was actually very difficult to refuse.

I am 58 and have never had the flu or a cold until I had the underactive thyroid problem where I get sniffly and a bit of a sore throat or whatever. I am also housebound. A few months ago a nurse came out to see me about something totally different and demanded I have a flu jab. I refused. She argued and argued that I must have it. I refused. She again insisted saying that otherwise when I am "surrounded by people who have germs" I will get it. I pointed out to her that I used tobe surrounded by dozens of people every day, and never got it. Now I am never surounded by people and if I knew someone wanted to come and see me who had a cold or the flu I wouldnt let them come. She went very quiet. They get paid to give you such a jab so their main thought is to make sure you have it. She then went on about how high my blood pressure was. It was high. She insisted I buy a blood pressure monitor off of her and note it every day and take statins if it continues like that. I refused to buy a monitor off of her, as I could tell that she would switch to going on about that instead of why she was actually here. I did order a blood pressure monitor from amazon and every day my blood pressure was h igh. I then stopped taking my levothyroxine tablets and each day for a few days it got lower and it is now always well under 120.

At least half the people I know who have flu jabs become ill afterwards. I've always said I don't understand why they have one. It will be passing this information on Greygoose.

I never have one now, I used to but I soon realised they weren't good for me! Not surprised they are a waste of time.

Same here. I think the only one I ever had was in 1971. They gave it to me because I had bad catarrhe every year. I never did work that one out. lol But since Learning more about vaccines, I decided not to have another one.
