Dienogest with mirena coil

I had a 2nd laparoscopy in March 2021 where I had the mirena fitted at the same time. I had bleeding for 6 months after and I started to get pain again when my consultant informed me I could take dienogest 2mg alongside which could help settle the pain.

Questions re: Mirena coil & surgery follow up! What check should be done?

Is was only after I was ushered out, I realised the Mirena coil hadn’t been checked - or that I didn’t understand what was meant by ‘check’. I think the info leaflet said a 6 week check.

Are the tens machine worth it? Ovira?

Mirena coil was fitted during the surgery and my cramps came back (no as bad as it use to be 🤞🏻) before the mirena I was under two mini pills x days to cut completely my period and handle my pain.

Having mirena coil fitted

I had a mirena coil fitted when I was 18 but it was during my laparoscopy so I obviously wasn’t aware of it being inserted. Some complications and changes, it ended up ‘falling’ down. Then tried the implant and then the pill.

Help please with female hormones after intro of T3 and gel to patches

I have a mirena coil for progesterone element. Any thoughts or help would be so helpful as I have no idea what this means so thank you in advance. I’ve been on HRT for approx 8 years and switched from tablet to gel 18 months ago due to poor absorption.

1 week post laparoscopy and the pelvic Pain is so bad!

I'm so worried that the mirena isn't right for me and that's what's causing the issues. Maybe I'm just over thinking it. Any advice would be really appreciated. Thank you!

Mirena or endo pain?

During the op I had the mirena coil inserted. Now 14 months later, I’m still having pain most days. I finally have a gyno appt coming up in a few weeks and I think they’re going to suggest having my coil taken out, which feels like a really big decision.

fibro, meds and pregnancy

Hi guys I'm pretty worried what the next few weeks are going to look like for me. I asked the GP to do a meds review a few months ago as I was having the marina coil removed, this included 600mg of prcegablin a day. I was told this was safe during pregnancy so got on with my life. My GP phoned

NHS Waiting Times

I also have a Mirena coil fitted (from the same time). I’ve recently moved to the West Midlands and have been fighting to be referred to gynae since August 2021 when I moved here. Finally managed to get a referral but first appointment they have is August 2023.

Is the mirena coil making me this way??

Hi, I have had the Kiera coil fitted 18 months since having my 3rd laparoscopy for severe endo. Everything has been fine , my period stopped but for the last 3/4 I have had pain again, my moods are horrendous and my passion for life and tolerance for people is thin! As well as the weight gain and acne

Mirena coil malposition, low lying

Hi everyone I currently have the Mirena coil which was inserted/replaced during my lap in March 2021. I just had an internal ultrasound due to ongoing add increasing pain to check if any new cysts and luckily none found. However my Mirena is low lying at 7mm low.

Feeling so lost and Alone!

Undiagnosed but suspected Endo GP tried to fit mirena coil a few weeks back but couldn't measure as my womb neck was too tight. She wants to try again this Friday with local but I am so scared. The last one made me suffer for days and I just don't know what to do.

Symptoms post hormonal treatment

I’ve had the mirena coil for almost 8 years (8 years post diagnosis) and I’ve started having symptoms again. No bleeding or severe cramps but bad back and pelvis pain. Has anyone else had this post hormonal treatment? Or am I being overly worried?

Pain worse after coil fitted

Hi everyone, I had the Mirena coil fitted in November to help with my Endo pain and bleeding. They did say it can take 6 months before it starts to work but the pain has worsened and the fatigue is awful!

Some advice please

I have severe endometriosis, had the mirena coil fitted and am currently on Zoladex. A recent MRI has now shown that the endo has spread to my bowel and that my uterus is stuck to my bowel. My consultant has advised that my options now are to have a hysterectomy and/or possible bowel surgery.

The pain has definitely decreased dramatically since straying the pill and then moving to the mirena All I got told was to loose weight and wait for surgery.
