Apalutimide side effects
My husband is taking Lupron shot every 3 months. He also started taking Apalutimide for about a month. In the last couple of weeks he has had insomnia and also has quite bad leg twitches at night that also prevent him from sleeping or wake him up. Has anyone had this happen. Our dr has suggested going

How accurate is the PSA test and what factors can influence results? Ejaculation? Diet? Willpower (ha)? What’s the research on this?
As a Gleason Score 10, I’m celebrating three years post-radiation treatments and 18 months free of Lupron injections. For the moment, treatment for me means PSA tests every three months. My recent PSA came back .19, down from .27 three months ago. My oncologist had expected the results to be well over

High ALP after tE2 failure
Interesting. After about 3 months of high-dose estradiol patches, I got my E2 up to 487. But my T only fell to 64. What gives? I was pretty confident after the first month, when only got to T of 187 on 4 patches 2x weekly, that a 50% increase to 6 patches would do the trick... but on the elevated dose

Am I ‘immunocompromised’ if on ADT?
I’ve been reading a lot the last week or so about a third jab for Covid for those on cancer treatments that make them immunocompromised. I’m certain that chemotherapy would count but I’m wondering if hormone suppression drugs such as Zytiga, Lupron , etc would be considered the same. Thanks for any insight

ADT Vacation over?
Well, after a year holding PSA <0.02, decided to try ADT vacation on 11/06/2020. So, PSA readings post vacation: 02/18/2021|<0.02, 05/19/2021|0.09, 06/25/2021|0.18 and 07/22/2021|0.27... Since still have my prostate, next blood draw will decide to restart Lupron and Zytiga if trend continues. What would

Possible side effect from ADT
You may want to share the below research article with your medical team. It may contain information that they may not know, as was the case with my team. https://www.nature.com/articles/pcan201345 The article discusses a correlation between men on ADT (hormone therapy) and the development of meningioma

Medicare vs Cobra
Good morning Wondering if anyone who is on Medicare can tell me what coverage they get on Xtandi, Lupron on part d? I’ve been riding Cobra for 3 years (MN state Cobra has no limit) but it’s crazy expensive. And Med Part D scares me because there is no out of pocket limit, with ongoing 5% copays. Many

No evidence of LN Mets on latest CT scan. What now?
Some of this info is in my first post, but I am repeating what i think is relevant. In March 2020, Dx based on CT and bone scan and TRUS biopsy of GL 7 (4+3), T2N1M). The CT scan showed an enlarged right common iliac node (1 cm). Prostate was 5.5x5.3x5.8cm. In April 2020, PSMA PET scan showed PSMA

Testosterone and PSA drop and sore nipples
Prostatectomy Gleason 8, Lupron, and pelvic radiation. I am now off of Lupron and testosterone went up to 341 with a PSA of 0.014. Three months later the PSA rose to 0.025. I developed nipple soreness and started on tamoxifen. On my last test, the PSA dropped to 0.014 and the testosterone had dropped

Latest PSA
Jim's latest PSA 0.1 Dr Mohamad says we'll soon be undetectable. I know a fast drop isn't always good news, but he started Casodex in December, Lupron (4 month) January, and Abiraterone March. So hoping a six month to 0.1 is actually good news. I'm happy for the time being. Should start Prostate Radiation

Assumptions to increase life expendency
I have been on Lupron since August 2020. If I stay on Lupron for a total of 3 years total I could become Castrate resistant. My understanding is that I will then not be able to benefit from physical castration to get extra years of life. Please help me understand.

Cabazitaxel dosage & frequency?
Hello fellow voyagers! I have been offered Cabazitaxel in one of three dosages: either 25mg ( FDA original recommendation), 20 ( equally effective as per Firstana Trial ) or 16 ( untested). The choice is mine. The frequency at my hospital is every 3 weeks. Has anyone had Cabazitaxel on a weekly basis

Just read a private chat from 2 years ago...This was my reply. Lu-177 thoughts (then/now) and the reality of "life in Omaha"
the following words are from a chat with another member here from 2 years ago. Wow...so much has happened...nothing really good...but my prediction of doing Lu 177 was spot on. I had (at this point) viewed it as a miracle drug coming up. Now that I've done it...and had (so far) horrible results and
