Pain in shoulder joints and on top
I've had PMR 2 1/2 years now and just tapered to 0mg Medrol, mostly out of fear of what steroids will do, as it's already caused osteoporosis. I still have pain but it's not as bad as when this all began. I do have pain in my shoulder joints and on top of shoulders pretty bad, as well as pain all over

Can taking medications skew the results of thyroid testing.
I have Sjogrens disease and am on low dose Prednisalone of 2.5 mg alternate days and also ten weekly injections of Depot Medrol 80mg. I have also had a recent course of three days Ciprofloxacin 500mg for a biliary infection. Is it possible those medications could alter the results of a thyroid blood

What medications might skew thyroid test results?
As I am on low dose prednisalone, 2.5 alternate days ,plus a ten weekly injection of Depot Medrol 80 mg I wondered whether it could alter thyroid test results and normalise them. I also have had three days of Ciprofloxacin 500mg per day this week for a biliary infection. I am due to have a thyroid test

It seems this condition exists, but I am not sure what it means. I was on thyroxine only for a decade, it did nothing for me. I took 200 mcg daily for most of that time, which kept my TSH lowish (around 0.5), my FT4 levels close to the upper normal range, but my FT3 levels remained very low, and I continued

aldosterone and adrenal fatigue?
Does anyone know if adrenal cortex contains aldosterone, or do you need to take whole adrenal for that? Or does neither contain aldosterone? I have seen two so called top docs in Belgium who both said my aldosterone levels were suboptimal, but they have focused on treating my adrenal fatigue with Medrol

I was sick for many years initially with pain all over me, flu feeling, & severe fatigue. These episodes left me so sick I was bedridden. I started on Naprosyn & this worked so well controlling my symptoms. The symptoms came back off & on at which time I visited a rheumatologist who felt my symptoms

adrenal fatigue and how to treat it
I was on Medrol (4-6 mg daily) for four years, after being diagnosed with adrenal fatigue by a Hertoghe doctor in Belgium. I weaned off it more or less by mistake; one day, about two months ago, I was going to the lab, and was not supposed to take any meds before that, and then I just decided to wait

adrenal support and thyroid medication
Has anyone here been on prescription adrenal support, weaned off it, and then found NDT to work less well? I was on Medrol (between 4-6 mg daily; 6 mg daily for the first two years, then on 4 mg daily) for a little over four years (November 2011-February 2016). One day, I had a lab appointment, and was

different labs on same drug...?
In early 2012, I tried Thiroyd from Thailand and did great on it for about six months. This is what my labs looked like in June 2012, on 5 grains of Thiroyd: FT3 4.2 (ref 2.2-4.3) FT4 1.1 (ref 0.8-1.5) TSH completely suppressed. I was also on 6 mg of Medrol daily, after being diagnosed with adrenal

NEED ADVICE....AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
We've been posting about my recent problems with tapering while also, starting to change dosage to twice a day. Two serious Flares within ten days. While dropping from 18 to 17, made the mistake of adding another variable...using an enteric capsule. To keep this relatively short...believe a total of

Increasing dose
There is a lot of info regarding tapering but if you are started on to low of a dose of pred is it safe for the Dr to increase, mine just went from 5 mil once a day to 10 & he said lets try this for a while to see if theres improvement. I told him that from what I'm reading here is that it isnt enough

Anti inflammatory medication? ?
Hi, I would be really grateful for some advice about anti inflamatory I've been taking naproxen for around two months which I started during a big flare up. I've recently had a review at the gp and have been told I can only be on them for two month bursts due to the effect on your heart kidneys and stomach

Pain & more pain
Hello, recently diagnosed with PR & GCA and put on 5 mil once a day of prednisone, now put on 10 mil once a day. Not sure if I should take 5 in morning & 5 at night, Originally the Medrol pack gave me horrific side effects but the low dose of prednisone helps a little. The pain & stiffness is awfully

give up NDT...?
Recently, I have had reason to wonder if I am one of those patients who should not be on NDT. A month ago, I switched from Erfa to Thiroyd (Thai NDT). The main reason for this was that Erfa was causing me to itch. I knew it was Erfa because on a weekend trip away from home, I realised I had forgotten

weight loss and decreased need for medication?
I have lost a lot of weight in recent months, and I have also switched drugs (I have gone from Erfa to Thiroyd), plus switched to HC from Medrol. This past week, I have felt hyperthyroid. I sweat all the time (although it's still pretty cold outside, it even snowed yesterday), I don't sleep as well as

take NDT at night?
Has anyone ever tried taking NDT at night, and found that it had a positive impact on your well-being...? I am asking after reading the other night that people suffering from adrenal sufficiency and taking Medrol had better take it at bedtime, so that they wake up with ideal cortisol level (due to Medrol's

total confusion
So I went to see a so called top doctor in Belgium the other day, supposedly one of the best. Before going there, I had extensive labs done (blood and 24 h urine). I feel pretty well overall, work full-time, lead a normal life...I feel tired from time to time, but who doesn't...?! Anyway, it seems
