Malignant melanoma advice
May I ask the help and advice of our awesome Forum. This is NOT for me, but for a friend who has just had a facial melanoma (?2a) removed and needs a wider excision. I've looked for HU melanoma communities and surprised to find none with very many members. Our friend needs advice and a 2nd opinion

Does having CLL really make you 3 times more likely to get (another) cancer, and does CLL treatment add to the risk? - Part 1
Skin cancers - the most significant class of SPM for CLLers - are very amenable to early diagnosis and treatment,
malignant
melanoma
being the most feared.

I am being treated for Necrotising Autoimmune Myositis with Methotrexate and have recently been diagnosed with
malignant
melanoma
. There is some suggestion that I should stop the Methotrexate to allow me to have the treatment for Melanoma which stimulates the immune system.

New technique modifies T-Cells to cure cancer
When examining the results of phase I and II clinical trials, in which 31 patients with
malignant
melanoma
received TIL therapy, researchers found those who successfully cleared their cancer still showed strong T-cell responses over a year later.

Temp flare or back for good
I had a
malignant
melanoma
& a big surgery in October but that didn't seem to poke the PMR beast either. Then a couple of weeks ago it came back with a vengeance- all the old pain, and ESR/CRP back up to where they were right at the start. Has this happened to anyone else?

I'm caught between a rock & a hard place as I have also been diagnosed with a scary
malignant
melanoma
, and the immunotherapy treatment (which I have not yet been prescribed) is inhibited by steroids.

venesections over the long term
I was diagnosed with PV in January 21 when I was being treated for a
malignant
melanoma
and the surgeon wanted to do a lymph node biopsy. my red blood cell count at that time was around 0.8. The cancer was removed and I have had a large number of venesections since then.

What is Melanoma?
As with all skin cancers,
melanoma
can often be seen on the skin, making it easier to detect in its early stages. But, if left undetected, melanoma can spread to distant sites or organs.

I've just been diagnosed with a
malignant
melanoma
. The dermatology nurse said taking steroids for a long time can make this more likely because of the reduced immune response.

Prior to this I was on Azathoprine but had to stop taking it due to been diagnosed with a
malignant
melanoma
which had spread to my lymph nodes in 2007. I’ve had one major flare up in 2013 which was treated with prednisone IV, oral and enemas .

Radiotherapy? Did you know of the ONGOING effects?
About 33 years ago a mole on the back of my left arm had to be removed due to
malignant
melanoma
( I had never sunbathed ) Subsequently the glands under my arm were removed and I had aggressive radiotherapy on my shoulder. I was badly burned and the hair & sweat glands under the arm were destroyed.

There are three overdiagnosed cancers in men: prostate, thyroid &
melanoma
. i.e. where 'overdiagnosed' means 'histologically
malignant
but biologically benign'. However, the authors state that the association could not be explained by greater medical scrutiny.

Lobectomy in3 days
This past year I’ve had a
malignant
melanoma
, breast cancer and now lung cancer- all right side of body and all unconnected. Lung cancer was picked up at a radiotherapy scan by an oncologist who was to plan my radiotherapy. This tumour is 2.7cm and is upper right lobe.
