Sehcat test.
He sent me for a Sehcat scan, a test for bile acid
malabsorption
. If it does, this can cause painful stomach cramping, smelly wind and lots and lots of diarrhoea. There is medication you can take to help this. If you have these symptoms, it might be worth asking your GP to refer you.

Injections not working
So I think I either have a
malabsorption
problem or a tc11 problem. I think she will now refer me and I will have to wait months to see someone. Has anyone had the same problem or got any advice I can suggest to my doctor when I see her?

Bile Acid Malabsorption ( BAM )
Does anyone have bile acid/salt
malabsorption
? I have this and it's pretty bad at the moment. I also have coeliac disease, b12 deficiency, Graves' disease but no thyroid plus a few others. My life is ruled by the loo, food and meds. How do you all cope.

Severe IBS D and Bile Salt Malabsorption
I was recently diagnosed with severe Bile Salt
Malabsorption
too, so have come to the conclusion that, basically, my body hates food as it causes no end of problems whenever I eat anything at all. I started on a low-FODMAP regime about 14 weeks ago now.

Gillybean1 Arm, neck and calf ache after increasing very low dose Armour, and thoughts much appreciated.
I am 8 stone, good cholesterol, good blood sugars, lousy diet due to complex
malabsorption
problems but improving via Armour and digestive enzymes. Vitamin D up, B12 up, Ferritin very low on the cusp, hindered by not being able to tolerate iron supps + cant digest meat.

What type of symptom is a Swollen Tongue?
I had one injection a week for 4 weeks originally, but the tongue never went down and I eventually managed to get one injection a month after that because I am on a vegan diet and have
malabsorption
issues. Tongue remains swollen though.

At the end of my tether :-(
Now, I have read about
malabsorption
of levo, it's rare but it does happen and in those cases the patient is given IV thyroxine either into a vein or into the muscle. Now, has this or similar to this happened to anyone else here? If so, have they managed to get you under control?

More on Magnesium
It may well be that if proteins are not digested this could have adverse effects lower down in the gut as well as the problems of protein
malabsorption
. The second point is that the acid stomach kills bacteria in food and the upper part of the gut the small intestine is meant to be sterile.

Help with GP and Holo TC TEST/ MMA
She is sending me to gastro for my
malabsorption
and said all my questions would be better answered there. She diagnosed me with CFS. I'm not sure where to go with this now, will gastro be helpful?

Hydrogen Breath Tests
The case study, which needless to say did not involve an oesophagectomy, was concerned with fructose
malabsorption
and the article describes how excess sugar that is not digested starts to ferment and feed gut bacteria that can lead to bloating and diarrhoea.

All hope lost !!
They still can't find the reason of my
malabsorption
. The only thing they did was fill my Vitamin D and B12 levels when they found it was almost nil but that did not change anything (its been 6 months) - not even 1%.

Gastroparesis - A Novel Cause of Persistent Thyroid Stimulating Hormone Elevation in Hypothyroidism
To our knowledge, this is the first documented association between gastroparesis and thyroxine
malabsorption
. We recommend that gastroparesis be considered in any patient with persistent TSH elevation despite usual thyroxine doses.

Martyn Hooper says B12 deficiency CAUSES thyroid problems?
in 2014 about how B12 deficiency actually causes thyroid dysfunction, rather than the deficiency being due to the more commonly assumed
malabsorption
issue caused by thyroid. Was anyone there who can remember what he said exactly?
