The thyrogastric syndrome: its effects on micronutriments and gastric tumorigenesis
Infection,
malabsorption
and gastritis are potentially reversible after bacterial eradication treatment. In the other 84% of gastritis patients, no histological or serological proof of Helicobacter pylori is found.

Diagnosed with IBS after only ruling out Coeliacs
I had a private test to rule out Fructose
Malabsorption
and would be willing to have more private tests to rule other things out, but I would like to know what is available on the NHS before I go down that route. Thanks

Hypothyroid AND had weight loss surgery? (ie gastric bypass/band/gastric sleeve/duodenal switch etc) READ HERE THEN
I was hoping to form a sub-forum/support group for people who have had weight loss surgery AND are hypothyroid, mainly to share information regarding the two 'conditions' together (for example the
malabsorption
due to these weight loss procedures and how it affects your hypothyroidism and its management

Omeprazole for heartburn which could lead to severe malabsorption issues
Dont get me wrong this drug really works but I have just found out it can lead to severe
malabsorption
eg. low iron, vit B12 etc.

To everyone who has diarrhoea-predominant IBS please read this…
Unfortunately, the impact of bile acid
malabsorption
in IBS is not well recognised. I would estimate that fewer than 20 per cent of gastroenterologists treat it.’

Help required for Fructose Malabsorption/ SIBO
Anyone had this and managed to overcome it? Am at my wits end looking for 'alternative' treatments as I am sure the gastro will give me antibiotics which will make things worse. Lost far too much weight and just need to be able to put it back on. Hoping someone can help......

Fructose breath test
Firstly I am sure it means fructose
malabsorption
. Secondly, I was advised that taking a fructose test covers the lactose and glucose tests too so there was no need to test for those two.. So does that mean I malabsorb all 3? AND that I have SIBO?

Managing your condition is not just about treatment
I am also seeing the doctor about my bile salt
malabsorption
this week as the medications haven’t worked. If anything the symptoms are slightly worse. However I do not wish to end this post on a negative point.

Anyone here ever donated Platelets?
do you think I'll deprive my hypothyroid (suffering with
malabsorption
) body of what I potentially really need to stay healthy?

Osteopenia despite weight bearing exercises and calcium supplements for 20 years What can I do to help myself?
I have been taking supplements for decades but it clearly made no difference due to
malabsorption
. Since Sep 12 I have been taking a high strength liquid gluten-free calc, zinc, mag, D combo. I have pancreatic insufficiency which clearly needs to be addressed as it contributes to
malabsorption
.

ALERT: another possible cause of gluten sensitivity/intolerance
antibiotics I had taken over the last 30 years or so....the strep infection I had 30 years ago was untreated and caused heart damage, this also caused diverticulitis, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol...I am yet to find out what other damage I have...the Staph infection was a strain that can cause

Now Pretty Sure My Thyroid's NOT the Problem DESPITE History & Test Results Recovery Is Possible - Update
Menopause test FSH 12.9 IU/l (ref 2.9-14.6) I'm also doing a complete set of digestive panels to check for leaky gut, SIBO (small intestinal bowel overgrowth) and
malabsorption
that I scored from a recent Digestive Conference. My conclusion I know I'm peri-menopausal - high FSH.

What results do I ask my Doctor to provide for me following thyroid function and full bloods tests?
I have also been told in the past that I had problems with my vitamin B12 levels and
malabsorption
and I have suffered for years with Iritis. What results do I need to get from my Doctor to help me explore this myself? Thank you

Recommend a high quality multivit please? (must have Vit K)
I have
malabsorption
so would like a really high quality product that hopefully will be easier to absorb - must not contain gluten or mag stearate. Recommendations would be appreciated

I have through internet come to the concluson just this morning that I have celiac disease
Through the internet I had some possible diagnosis Pancreatit, bile acid
malabsorption
, ulcerus colit and colon cancer.Irratable bowel movement and that was about it. I had ruled out parasites as albenazole (?) would have taken care of them.

More advice to help me help myself. Here's my full results from recent full bloods. Any advice please?
then after 6 months the best the discharging Psychiatrist could suggest was that I needed to investigate why my VitB12 levels were low and did I have a
malabsorption
disorder? This was never followed up although I did get a B12 injection by mistake and felt so much better!!!!!
