Asbestos & Diagnosis
As some of you may be (or not be) aware. I have fought for 3 years to prove I had asbestosis, which was my original diagnosis. Because I was going down hill so fast all the 'Top Dogs' have said I had IPF and not asbestosis as asbestosis was a gradual decline and not aggressive? but non could answer

Need someone to talk to
Hi there, my mum was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer two months ago which has spread to her spine. She is currently undergoing chemo and is doing well. The oncologist/lung nurses etc all comment on how well she is. I am really struggling to remain upbeat. Mum is incredibly positive and will not let

Thyroid Lobectomy anyone????
Hello my friends, Today I had my thyroid uptake scan review with a ENT surgeon. He preformed an high sensitivity ultra sound and determined that my hyper-functioning nodule and cold nodule need to be removed. Both are on the right lobe, so he stated that he can leave 60% of the thyroid intact, which

Controversial I know.....
But if there is a 'better' lung disease to be diagnosed with, I am thinking lung cancer gives more hope than say nsip or uip and there is more treatment available and more is known about lung cancer, I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but I am genuinely in the dark on this, and would value

Hi Everyone In 2013 I had a persistant dry cough I went back and forth to my GP. I was referred to the Respiratory Clinic at West Suffolk Hospital Bury St. Edmunds Suffolk. Lung cancer? Me? No way.......
A few months ago if you would have asked me to list 10 things from which I might die, I would have listed heart failure from watching the New Orleans Saints way before lung cancer. I've never smoked, never been around second hand smoke, and never had a direct relative with lung cancer who didn't smoke

I'm really scared about throat cancer
Hello. I'm 27 years old. I smoked on and off most of my teenage years and quit when I was 19. For the past year, I've noticed my voice is getting more hoarse when I talk a lot and I constantly have to clear my throat, for feeling that it has a lot of mucus in it that I can't seem to clear out or swallow

ALK+ NSCLC
I am new to this sight but have been reading many posts. I belong to a few on Facebook that are very good and encouraging. I was dx in September 2015 with stage IV adenocarcinoma. This blindsided us because I have never smoked but I have learned a lot in the last 11 months that all you need is lungs

Hopefully I'm ok
53 today. Severe COPD a few weeks ago I got a phone call from a consultant from Ulster hospital. I had been for an CT scan cos I was coughing up some blood. The results came in showing a 11 mil nodule , they had me in next day for a bronchoscope. Had to wait another 2 weeks for a PET scan at the Royal

Crohns for 40 years
I'm Terry and I was diagnosed with Crohns almost 40 years ago. I had a total Colectomy when I was 21. I've had 4 surgeries since then. I'm currently on Humira and feeling well. I also suffer from severe depression.
