Supplements are Useless... Really! Let me dispel that notion
Just read this entire thread - https://healthunlocked.com/parkinsonsmovement/posts/141176703/supplements-useless And the smug assurances of originator of this thread has me furious as well as dismayed. My wife, with me in tag, visited the neurologist late December 2019 for a checkup. She reported that

Pain relief - what's best?
Mum's developed severe pain this week - muscle spasms and we think into her joints, she's got a high pain threshold and is wincing and in tears with it. She left hospital 2 months ago after her hip surgery with a codeine prescription, until this week it's barely been touched. Now the nursing home team

24hrs post-lap too good to be true...then bam!
I’m posting again but now, thankfully, with a definitive diagnosis! I had my diagnostic lap on Wednesday and endo was found on both sides (I’d only expected right side based on pain) and in POD. I had an overnight stay but didn’t see the consultant in the morning as he was on a flight somewhere so

Best levels to aim for.....
Following advice from my Cardiologist, I was referred to an Endocrinologist. After tests which included a nuclear thyroid scan, I was advised to have Radioactive Iodine treatment for hyperthyroidism which was carried out on 21 Jan. I’m due to have blood tests soon, prior to first review with Endo on

14yr old - Don't think all the necessary blood tests have been carried out
Hi, I'm writing here about my 14yr old daughter. In November, I took her to see a GP, where her tiredness was discussed. GP said she would request thyroid blood tests. 2 weeks later, she had a nurse appointment for bloods. A couple of days later, I received a letter from the surgery, saying that some

UPDATE New Endo/ Labs
Hi everyone I finally went to see new Endo at John Hopkins Hospital who (Only specializes in thyroid disease and thyroid cancer) for my second opinion about possible thyroid cancer recurrence from a November Radioactive iodine scan. Good news he is confident that reoccurence is probably not happening

Is my diagnosis and treatment correct?
I have been diagnosed with an over active thyroid due to a multinodular goitre with an overall grading of U2 in October 2018. On 22 March 2019 I received Iondine-131- treatment of 555 MBQ. After treatment my thyroid became more over active. I am having a consultation with my Endocrinologist this Friday

RAI or Neomercazole
I have been diagnosed with Graves Disease and need to decided whether to try take the meds Neo-Mercozol for 18-24months which I believe as a 50% chance of working or RAI. I am so confused. Has anyone had success on Meds? Has someone done RAI and wished they didnt?

Can a private endo refer me for NHS treatment?
I’m trying to avoid the long wait to be referred to the endo on the NHS, and then another wait to be referred for radioactive iodine. If I see a private endo can s/he refer me to an NHS hospital for radioactive iodine?

Untreated hyper- A&E?
I’ve had an overactive thyroid for many years. Only recently (within the past year or so) have I had issues with the medication killing my white blood cells. Therefore I had to stop taking it. My thyroid is currently untreated. I’m currently waiting to be referred for radioactive iodine (I’m not sure

CORONAVIRUS
Dr. Osborne had a webcast last night on how to protect yourself by building your immune system. He made interesting comments about certain vitamins in high doses on a temporary basis. He mentioned taking vitamin c throughout the day, a high dose of vitamin d for three days, a higher dose of vitamin
