Topiramate and interaction with Levothyroxine and Liothyronine (and new blood test results)
I thought it would be useful to check my thyroid levels, as increased to 75mg Levothyroxine and 25mg
Liothyronine
two months ago. My recent results are below (test taken at 8am with fasting. Last dose of
Liothyronine
was 11 hours earlier and last dose of Levothyroxine was 24 hours earlier).

I have a question for you amazing people please . about liothyronine blood levels
I am on
liothyronine
only . I note like many of you have said that unlike other illnesses when we have our bloods checked the level of t3 is checked . So it's a test of the level of the drug we take .

Oxidative Remote Induction of Type 3 Deiodinase Impacts Nonthyroidal Illness Syndrome
It is all too easy to point a finger at low T3 levels and assume that use of
liothyronine
would be the answer. However, that is absolutely obvious, has been tried, and does not appear to be "the answer". [i]J Endocrinol . 2020 Jun 1;JOE-19-0574.R3. doi: 10.1530/JOE-19-0574.

DIO2 test
I’ve just had a letter through from the endo I’ve been seeing to confirm the test showed a heterogeneous variant genotype and he has written to my GP to say I would benefit from dual thyroxine and
liothyronine
replacement so I assume I will get this paid for on the NHS...?

Cortisol Testing in the UK.
I'm a T3,
Liothyronine
patient and have been for almost 20 years. I had been on adrenal support (prescription) for many years but came off it last year. I am now really suffering again with adrenal insufficiency.

Liothyronine Prescription - GP no longer able to provide prescription to send overseas for Thybon Henning
My NHS Endocrinologist wrote to my GP last year to advise I need
Liothyronine
prescribed by the practice. Since then, my GP has been providing a prescription which I send overseas and I pay for the tablets, Thybon Henning. These are the only tablets that I feel well on.

A Small plea!
It says "Existing stable patients in primary care may continue to be prescribed
liothyronine
by the GP where they are satisfied the patient is benefitting specifically from the use of
liothyronine
" however later on in the document it says "Primary care prescribing of these medications is NOT recommended

Advice following very high T3 level result
I'm on the same dose (2 x 20 mcg) of
liothyronine
as I've been on for 12 years. The only thing that has changed is that instead of splitting the dose into 4, I now take it at 7am and 1pm and also, that I came off adrenal support (2 x 100mg Nutri Adrenal) per day last Summer.

Role of Liothyronine and Desiccated Thyroid Extract in Hypothyroidism
Here is an article in Endocrinology Advisor. It, at least, acknowledges that the above can be helpful. I thought it might be interesting. https://www.endocrinologyadvisor.com/home/topics/thyroid/levothyroxine-and-combination-therapy-in-patients-with-hypothyroidism/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email

Help ! Consultant change -wants to put me back on Levothyroxine ! (On NDT & T3 )
I’m taking 2.5 grains Armour Thyroid & 20mcg
Liothyronine
daily June: TSH O.5 T4 -12 T3 -6 (She wouldn’t give me the ranges) The toxicity? which she said is due to taking NDT as this isn’t the right treatment. Especially as it’s pig gland and unlicensed in UK.
