Hi, My expectation of being prescribed Liothyronine at my upcoming NHS endo appointment is low to zero. I am done with feeling unwell and am not prepared to wait for a second opinion on the NHS. I need to reclaim my life so I will make an appointment with a private specialist straight after.

Labs done according to protocol and at 8AM: 10-9-2024 (88mcg Tirosint-SOL, 20mcg ) TSH 0.006 (.45 - 4.50) Free T4 1.43 (.82 - 1.77) 64.2% Free T3 3.40 (2.0 - 4.4) 58.3% 7-30-2024 (100mcg Synthroid, 20mcg ) TSH 0.005 (.45 - 4.50) Free T4 1.46 (.82 - 1.77) 67.4%

I'm currently having difficulty finding a pharmacy than can source a Liothyronine brand that does not contain Acacia, to which I have had a bad reaction recently. The two suitable brands being Roma or SigmaPharm (5mcg). No one can get SigmaPharm and there seems to be no supply of Roma.

I am now on 25mcg of this, together with 2 x 10mcg of Liothyronine Sodium, per day. I still have the hissing in ears. Does anyone else have this? The Endocrinologist says it is not related but it felt so much a cause and effect that I doubt what he says. Thanks

I take 100mg levothyroxine at 10pm, 10mcg Liothyronine at 7am and 5mcg Liothyronine at 4pm. This spread is working great for me, but I am still monitoring my levels and wanted advice on when to do my blood test. I would be grateful 🙏

I have been taking 5mcg of Liothyronine twice daily alongside 75mg of Levothyroxine prescribed by my consultant around 4 years ago. ( I have had Hashimotos' disease for almost 40 years)My problem is that I cannot obtain Morningside brand of Liothyronine from my usual pharmacies.

I don’t drink alcohol and never have, prior to taking NDT which is now replaced with 100mcg Levothyroxine and 10mcg Liothyronine ( on the NHS) my Serum Gamma GT level was always well below the normal range of 0-45 u/L . I understand that thyroid medication can affect the level .

Currently there is a 49-fold variation in prescriptions for liothyronine as a proportion of treatment between regions in the UK, it notes. Some areas had banned its use due to dramatic price hikes but more recently liothyronine cost has come down.

I had my appointment with my endocrinologist yesterday.Apparently my TSH levels have been .... February 2023 - 20 , given 5mcg x 2 x daily June 2023 - 12, given 10mcg x 2 x daily October 2023 - 8, given 20 mcg x 1×daily Mon, Wed, Fri plus 10 mcg x 1 x daily. Then Sun,

I was finally prescribed Liothyronine by a private GP with the backing of Endocrinology. My new 5mcg pills arrived today, and the plan is I take 5mcg 3 times a day, total of 15mcg which is a small dose.

I had a consult with Dr Momi who got me to up my levo from 50-100 and prescribed liothyronine 10mcg 2x per day. (Ideally this would have started lower and titrated up but in order to try and mitigate potential miscarriage I went straight onto this dose).

I just had a bad reaction to TEVA Levo 50mg due to the Acacia Powder filler, GP changed prescription to Accord, but I also take Liothyronine (Morningside), I don't believe there is a brand of Lio (tablets) in the UK that doesn't contain Acacia, but that there is an oral solution.

I am currently taking both T4 (Liothyronine) and NP Thyroid (a type of porcine thyroid). Both doses are somewhat low as my thyroid is still about to manage some production on its own. Are there doctors in the UK who are willing to prescribe these medications for me?

I understand Another company has taken over. Has this LT3 been rebrandedand if so does it have the same fillers/excipients? I really do not want to change to another brand with different fillers>absorption rate>therapeutic effect. Is there an equivalent LT3 on the market with the similiar excipents?
