There's a petition to "Establish a national UK manufacturer of essential, off-patent, generic medicines (such as hydrocortisone, liothyronine or insulin) within the NHS.

I have reduced my liothyronine from 30 to 20 and Im on 50 levothyroxine. So the symptoms of over medication are better and my heart has settled but I'm still feeling hypo. I haven't tried to increase the levo yet as I wanted to do one thing at a time. Thank you

The half life of 24 hours is not a problem if two or three doses are taken daily, indeed Celi showed that with thrice daily dosing there was no difference between liothyronine monotherapy and levothyroxine https://academic.oup.com/jcem/article/96/11/3466/2834586 .

l Just when I was coasting on 50mcg a day merrily along…. now the headaches Will do bloodwork but TSH will be low…& endo will say “ I told you so”… & throw levothyroxine in my face, again… & blame all on liothyronine! Any suggestions?

He told me very early on that my problems were due to mal absorption of liothyronine. At that time I was taking 55mcg liothyronine plus 125mcg levothyroxine daily.

What are they afraid of?? That it might actually work!!! Beggars belief that a medical professionals would deny a lovely patient her life blood ?????

My endo doc had been treating my hypothyroidism with levothyroxine (T4) only, since I had tried liothyronine (to get some T3) before but even at tiny doses (like 1/4 of a 5mcg tablet) I've had bad reactions (wicked fast heart rate, etc) to it and had to stop.

Am I mistaken in thinking I have read in NICE guidelines that GPs can take over prescribing Liothyronine under NHS endocrinologists instruction? I cannot find this now. Thank you

I've been on the same levo and liothyronine dosage for several months. My latest blood results show T4 has gone down and T3 has gone up. The only change I've made is my levo brand because I couldn't tolerate Teva and changed to Mercury Pharma two months ago.

I posted earlier today about advice for taking Liothyronine. Since then, I have taken my first dose of 2.5mcg capsule and instantly felt weird. Headachey, inside of ears were hurting, felt dizzy and nauseous.

Since you feel overmedicated and the TSH is slightly suppressed, I'd like to back off on the liothyronine to 5 mcg once daily. I ordered repeat labs at Labcorp in 4 weeks. Thanks DB

I am currently taking 100mcg thyroxine and 5mcg x 2 Liothyronine. I was supposed to have a telephone consultation on 22nd September but my endo cancelled it and I have not had another appointment given as yet. TSH 0.14 mu/L FT4 15 pmol/L FT3 3.7 pmol/L

The risks, as told by the plaintiff, include “improper dosage and/or excessive levels of liothyronine and levothyroxine,” each of which come with a host of side effects.

Has anyone here taking the Sun Pharma liothyronine and had issues with it? I got a renewed prescription of 25 mcg in July original script was another manufacturer. This time around just feel as though it isn't working properly and wondering if there was anyone else that was having issues. TIA

He wanted to stop my liothyronine but I argued that only the consultant could do that. Results in July.

Endocrinologist has reduced my 100mcg Levo to 75, and I’ve 2.5mcg of Liothyronine to take twice a day. It came in a bottle with no instructions nor leaflet… I was wondering if you guys have any advice how to take it?

I would be very grateful if people would DM me with any other sources of reasonably priced T3/liothyronine. Thank you 🙏🏼
