hi friends, So I’m now (since 2 weeks ago) trying liothyronine, a quarter of a 20mcg tablet twice a day, along with 75 mcg T4 daily.

All respondents favoured LT4 tablet therapy for treatment of hypothyroidism, but 20.5% prescribed combination therapy (LT4 and liothyronine), and 13% regularly used desiccated thyroid extract.

Are there any articles on the subject of absorption differences between NDT and thyroxine/liothyronine? I am reviewing my NDT blood test results against my levo/combined T3 and T4 results. The difference is astonishing.

I'm being told that T3 is hard to get and Teva is the only one available. Are others facing this problem?

Currently I am taking 27.5mg of T3 (liothyronine) daily.

Has anyone on liothyronine and levothyroxine stopped the lio and increased the levo? I am on 100 mcg levo and 5 lio (2x a day) and have both hypo and hyperthyroid symptoms. My TSH continues to be <.02. I tried going to 10 lio twice a day and felt hyperthyroid (shaking hands and anxiety).

I now would like to try Liothyronine t3 without a prescription I know how hard it is to get it prescribed on the nhs and wondered if anyone could private message me with any reliable information ? As to where I can source this hormone safely ? I live in the uk. Many thanks FAE1960

I have been taking liothyronine 5mcg once a day for 4 months or so along side with levothyroxine 50mg a day (before I was taking levothyroxine only 70mg a day).

Even when I was not taking liothyronine, TSH was low. I can't attribute the low TSH to liothyronine when it was low like this with only thyroxine. [u]Am I just not absorbing thyroxine the way I used to?

my endo stoped my T3 based on low tsh 0.05( 0.35-4.94)level results, I am due to have repeat blood work in 2 weeks, what tests in USA should I ask for? How do I find my post on this app? Thanks

I have been taking 10mcg T3 Liothyronine 7am & 2pm & 50mcg Levothyroxine 7am.I have felt so much better on the Liothyronine.

(T3) Not many are prescribed T3-only, but are self medicating or under the care of a specialist who recognises the effects of T3 on TSH. Therefore, forum suggestions become less relevant. .
