Here is an article in Endocrinology Advisor. It, at least, acknowledges that the above can be helpful. I thought it might be interesting. endocrinologyadvisor.com/ho...

Though the article does regard taking T3 as an option, it straightaway falls into the trap of deciding dosing on normalising TSH. With T3 in combination with T4 or T3 alone TSH levels are often suppressed, with no harm to the patient. Indeed even with T4 alone, TSH should be below the reference range for optimal treatment. If a patient has no thyroid, TSH cannot be safely used as a control function.

I completely agree with what you point out. The Endocrinology Advisor is deeply rooted in the current medical paradigm build on normalizing numbers not individual personal care. I, so far, have not run into a doctor who thought that therapy with T3 would be a good idea (and they would read this article as a conformation, I assume), so to have this option even acknowledged was a huge surprise to me. TSH based "care" is just the easiest because it does not require the time and discernment that optimal care would require. Fix the numbers and you're done. Fast and easy.

Agree. I mentioned to my Endocrinologist in December about the possibility of using T3 and he dismissed it offhand saying there was no proof it was effective. End of conversation. 🙄

If he was basing this on the fact that Liothyronine has never been subjected to, and passed, the trials necessary for it to be passed as a prescribable "drug", then perhaps he should also admit that the same goes for NDT and Levothyroxine.

So, why is NDT Blacklisted and Levothyroxine Greenlisted?????????

Interesting read. Thanks for sharing.

I gave up on reading when I saw that they simply do not understand what they are talking about.

They state that "With the use of desiccated thyroid extract, in which the LT3 to LT4 ratio is relatively higher....."

They actually believe that NDT is comprised of SYNTHETIC Liothyronine and SYNTHETIC Levothyroxine!!!!!!!

No wonder this leaves so many of us ill!!!!!
