Metformin help
I was diagnosed with Pcos after my first baby. I know that sounds bizarre and over a 17 year period I had 4 children. Although I've always had irregular periods, excess hair and been obese I've never been on metformin. However now in my mid 40's I'm morbidly obese and my dr has suggested I consider it

Targeting mTOR
mTOR is a protein with the rather whimsical name "mammalian target of rapamycin". Rapamycin (aka Sirolimus) is a bacteria discovered on Rapa Nui [Easter Island]. It inhibits mTOR. So the protein is named after the drug that inhibits it! mTOR is involved with cancer cell survival, proliferation & metastasis

Grass fed Goat Meat and shrimps in LCHF
It is said that dietary cholesterol has got very minor impact on blood cholesterol level. How about shrimps??? My own experience is that when ever I consume shrimps...my total cholesterol shoots up. Both LDL and HDL raises.....But HDL more.Ofcoz HDL goes better and better thanLDL. If we say no impact

My Intro - Ned in St Louis
I was diagnosed at age 60, in Aug 2010, with 12 positive cores out of the 12 sampled in my biopsy! I had lost my mother to colon cancer when she was age 59, and my secret goal was to at least make it past that age. The urologist called me, very concerned with those results, the DAY AFTER my 60th birthday

New study below. Pigment epithelium-derived factor [PEDF] is new to me, but there are now 25 PCa-PEDF hits on PubMed (beginning 2003). The first (1) identified PEDF "as a key inhibitor of stromal vasculature and epithelial tissue growth in mouse prostate". Study (2) reported that "loss of pigment

Need a Opinion
I am suffering from Diabetic condition for last eight years. I was reasonably controlling the situation with Metformin 1000 mg 1 tab and Diamicron MR 60 mg 2 tabs / day until last year. Currently my HBA1C is not within the required range, it is increasing from around 7 to around 8.4 ( last year) Otherwise

Bg reading after fast
Hi, I have type 2, and I manage my bg with diet and metformin. Mostly ok, I m happy with day time readings, usually between 5.5 and 7.0. However, when I take a bg test after fasting overnight and before late breakfast, (11am), the reading is quite high, at over 8.0. Does anyone know why this should be

Repositioning "old" drugs for new causes: identifying new inhibitors of PCa cell migration and invasion.
New Australian study below. "Following the completion of the primary screening assay, 33 drugs were identified from an FDA approved drug library that either inhibited migration or were cytotoxic to the PC-3 cells. Based on the data obtained from the subsequent validation studies, mitoxantrone hydrochloride
