Do you think it is useful to take a break from Ldopa after 5 days of treatment?
I just read this very interesting article by David Tomen who suggests taking a break from l-dopa, in this case from Mucuna After five days of use… This is a two day break https://nootropicsexpert.com/l-dopa/#nootropics-expert-recommendation And you what do you think ?

Mucuna pruriens in Canada
Hello to my fellow Canadians. I am wondering if any of you are taking mucuna pruriens (not the powdered form) and can guide me where I can get it. I have been looking for 15% L-DOPA by protocol for life Balance but would be happy with the equivalent from another company Thanks in advance, Missy

PSP Pain
He tales Tramadol for his degenerative spine (after breaking it 40+ years ago) and Carbidopa-
Levodopa
, neither of which work on the headaches. So, he sleeps most of the time. Anyone else suffer these issues? Any suggestions?

Levodopa storage
A rather dry topic but where do people store their medication in hot weather? Apparently Madopar should not be stored above 26 deg c, (79f), Sinemet- some sources say keep below 25c. As the needle now edges 30 c in the UK, and anytime on holiday in the Mediterranean or Caribbean, not easy without AC.

Mucuna Pruriens
I would appreciate some advice on the following. I recently started giving Mucuna Pruriens to my wife hoping to start reducing her usual dopamine medication and replace this with the natural L-Dopa that Mucuna has as this should have far less side effects. However, after the third day, I stopped

Side effects of levodopa
The most common side effects of
levodopa
are nausea and vomiting. These occur most often when first taking the drug and usually disappear over time. Nausea is much less common with controlled release Sinemet (Sinemet CR), which is absorbed more slowly than the regular Sinemet.

HDT & TTFD–In my case, HBP was a return of symptoms and not a side-effect of TTFD.
I recently realized that I was having off-periods before taking my second dose of Carbidopa/
Levodopa
(C/L) where my BP was high. I changed to taking 1-1/2 (3) times a day from 2-1/2 (2) times a day and it has helped tremendously.

Mucuna + carbidopa = vomiting? What's going on? Help please!
As I've mentioned elsewhere, I normally take Barlowe's Brown Indian Mucuna instead of Sinemet (VERY bad reaction to Sinemet which got worse over time when I tried it for a few months in early 2021). The Barlowe's capsules are 650 mg extract with 40% L-Dopa, so approximately 260 mg L-Dopa each. I take

An urgent warning about rytary...
It defies my experience that Rytary is listed as the same drug as carbidopa
Levodopa
. Many of these patients are borderline suicidal, spun out of control on a Sinemet substitute drug, the longer acting newer formulary, Rytary.

My disastrous MRI guided FUS PTT
Short story: Before PTT, I took 3 x
Levodopa
Carbidopa CR daily. Now, I take 5 and my symptoms are a lot worse. Progression rate has increased. Long story: I never had resting tremors. I have rigidity, dystonia, bradykinesia, akinesia, masked face, bad voice and speech.

Husband so sick but not sure what’s going on
He never had anxiety attacks prior to starting
levodopa
so I feel certain that this is medication related but we’ve tried fiddling with his doses and dosing schedule and nothing seems to help.

Adrenaline dominance
I wonder if it explains my husbands peak dose
levodopa
reaction when the dose was too high. He was probably in a high adrenaline state. This dr recommends progestrone cream 5% to be rubbed on wrists to calm as it blocks adrenaline. It might be a good remedy if it works.

PS128 Again in the News
Interestingly, probiotics may prove to be useful for PD in even more ways in the future, including helping with better absorption of
levodopa
(Perez-Pardo 2017). With each passing year, science continues to offer more and more reasons to consider probiotics for PD.
