I just read this very interesting article by David Tomen who suggests taking a break from l-dopa, in this case from Mucuna After five days of use…
This is a two day break

And you what do you think ?

I don’t think PWP are the audience he is writing for.
Self-appointed "expert" recommends healthy people take L-DOPA 250 – 500 mg per day.

'nuff said.
seems to be true 😅👈
Levodopa does have adverse effects. He has got no business recommending it to healthy people:
but since I take vitamin b1 and it works pretty well for me I wonder if a break from Mucuna over 2 days is a bad idea
I would try it out and see how I feel then go from there.
thx
At the front end of the diagnosis, I tried not taking C/L for a day or two here or there. I really didn't want to take medication! My neurologist was off the hook and said that by doing that it could potentially cause death. So, if you want to try that, please check with your doc and do it under their supervision.
I don't think your doctor is telling you the truth...
it is true that it is very dangerous to suddenly stop your pharmaceutical treatment, but I am talking about a break of 48 hours of treatment over a week…
Mucuna it is only l-dopa
The doctor is correct. One must not quit levodopa cold turkey, even for a short time: "Due to the accident, he missed the afternoon dose of his antiparkinsonian medications. On the same day evening, he appeared a bit drowsy, confused, and also developed low-grade fever. He also started talking irrelevantly and misidentified the family members". It went downhill from there. Reference: europepmc.org/article/PMC/6...
Levodopa dosage must be tapered over time. This advice from the self-appointed "nootropics expert" is dangerous.
