My blood pressure and levodopa -- six of my doctors were wrong and I was right.
For a couple of years, my major health concern has been the spikes in my blood pressure that occur when I'm in the off period as the old
levodopa
pill wears off and the new one hasn't kicked in. My take has been that the origins of the problem stems from the
levodopa
off periods.

L-Dopa or Azilect (rasagiline) positively affecting mental states?
Has anyone tried going off L-DOPA (or carbidopa) or Azilect (rasagiline) and noticed a change in thinking such as being more critical of people or more easily irritated?

Success with CDP Choline?
There's an interesting study in which PWPs were able to lower their
levodopa
dose when taking CDP Choline. I'm thinking of adding this supplement but would like to hear personal experiences first. Please let me know if you've tried it and with what kind of outcome... thanks!!

PD. Sleep Issues - Any Advise
Hi. I was diagnosed with PD in June 2012 I am currently on 100/25 Co-careldopa, x3 per day, 2.62mg Mirapexin & 10mg Seligiline. My issues are that I am constantly tired. I tend to grab 4-5 hours sleep at night but wake at around 0400. I'm struggling to stay awake at work throughout the day at the computer

IF YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT.. BEFORE PD, I WAS A CHEESE BURGER.
Eating a very proteinic meal reduces the likelihood of effectively absorbing
levodopa
, so you may want to leave meat, fish and cheese for dinner and eat more carbohydrates and vegetables during the day.

Postural Instability Gait Disorder PIGD
I also note the Sinemet (
Levodopa
Cardopa) ... dopamine replacement seems to have little or no effect on my minor symptoms. These two facts stated, is this sufficient to put me in the PIGD camp as opposed to the Tremors at Rest camp?

Why start treatment with levodopa?
The aim was to delay taking
levodopa
as long as possible which in turn would delay onset of motor fluctuations and dyskinesia. Inevitably, the loss of dopamine was not matched by agonist and MAOb, and then
levodopa
was introduced.

‘Don’t delay, start today’: delaying levodopa does not delay motor complications
An interesting article from Dec 2014 edition of Brain, challenging the need to delay starting
levodopa
treatment. http://brain.oxfordjournals.org/content/137/10/2628

Not sure what's next
I'm 50 years old and am taking
levodopa
/carbidop 100/25 mg. I'm taking 6 tablets a day. I'm still limping, still stiff and my neurologist says after the new year I need to see his associate. Is stronger meds, is it something else other then pd?

Living with CBGD
I take
levodopa
3 125 tabs 3 times a day. 10 mg Aricept per day. I just had Botox injections in my legs in October 2014 and will have more in January 2015 including my left shoulder, arm and hand.

Stalevo
I just worry about the other stuff alongside the
levodopa
- the 25mg cardopa and 200mg entacapone in every single tablet. I've experimented with Stalevo 100, 150 and 200 but when I tried 4 x 150 recently I was freezing between doses.

Kratom - the Holy Grail of RLS?
I know I have experienced that for the first time in my life this year, (I'm in my mid 40's), the ability to sit at rest and to have my RLS symptoms completely - COMPLETELY removed. After Miripexin, Tramadol, Comedienne, L-Dopa, stopping alcohol/nicotine/caffeine, Magnesium, Potassium and Iron supplements

Position of relief from foot dystonia
Finally the
levodopa
kicked in and I could sit and stand. It has helped several times. I'm scheduled for DBS in December, maybe the fix.
