Hello, I'm trying to help my 91 year old mother who has Parkinson's. She was diagnosed about 4 years ago. She was taking Carbidopa Levidoopa and was doing pretty well but has developed very distressing Panic Attacks. She says she is hit with an overwhelming feeling to cry and feels terribly nervous

NURR1: Facilitating the transition of neural stem cells into functional dopaminergic neurons.
//////What is NURR1? Nuclear receptor related 1 protein (Nurr1) is an important transcription factor required for differentiation and maintenance of midbrain dopaminergic (DA) neurons. Since decrease in Nurr1 function either due to diminished expression or rare mutation is associated with Parkinson's

Are any f you using it? My neurologidt prescribed it to me (50mg.) to take in combination with levodopa. Its function should be to neutralize those enzymes that degrade levodopa so as to make "on" effect more lasting. It only worked for me a few months.

Grapefruit reduced carbidopa-levodopa? Please UPDATE
Still relatively new on HU, I’m also searching through the old posts looking for positive experiences to optimize C/L efficacy. In doing so, I came across the multiple posts from 3 years ago about the beneficial effects of grapefruit juice. In particular, wriga's scientific findings and experiment seemed

Levodopa May Reduce Neuroinflammation
This intrigues me. Summary: Levodopa, a drug commonly prescribed for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease that increases dopamine in the brain was found to reverse the effects of neuroinflammation on the reward system and improve symptoms associated with depression. https://neurosciencenews.com/levodopa-inflammation-depression

Honey for parkinson disease
Honey contains a variety of antioxidants in the form of flavonoids and phenolic acids, which can potentially reduce oxidative stress and repair the damage caused by it. Honey, along with other apitherapeutic products, has been reported to inhibit the activity of monoamine oxidase (MAO), which is involved

Oh the pain…
I keep meaning to ask this because I’ve talk to my doctor about it and for some reason I don’t seem to be conveying what’s happening. But I think it’s dystonia. Anyway, as levodopa wears off, it’s almost like my stomach hurts very deeply. Almost like kind of cramps. It’s not like the diarrhea cramps

Prospective Long-term Follow-up of Focused Ultrasound Unilateral Subthalamotomy for Parkinson Disease
Background and Objectives
: Unilateral Magnetic Resonance-guided Focused Ultrasound subthalamotomy (FUS-STN) has been shown to improve the cardinal motor features of Parkinson’s disease (PD). Whether this effect is sustained is not known. This study aims to report the long-term outcome of PD patients

HDT more or less
I have been trying for years to find success with HDT but haven't. Currently I'm on levodopa and entacapone, taking meds at several intervals /day. As meds wear off before it is time for the next dose, I'm experiencing EXTREME fatigue. It's nearly impossible to stand or move. The fatigue comes on
