Neupro patch

Do pwp experience on times and off times when they’re on Neupro patches like they do with Levodopa and other Parkinson’s medication?

Miranda, my husband has been on the patch for a number of years.. no on and off periods, but it turned his life around. Madapar did next to nothing, which caused him initially to be diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. He actually had extreme apathy. After a few weeks on the patch, he returned to normal mentally and was rediagnosed with Parkinson’s.

thank you Gwendoline for answering my question. I’m pleased to hear that your husband had such a good result with the Neupro patch. I hope it continues to work well for him.

I'm on a minimal dose, subclinical for PD. But I tend to be hypersensitive to medications, so we started with 1 mg. I definitely see improvement with it.

I don't see an on or off time. About 2 hours after a new patch I tend to get sleepy. So I think as the doctor said you're get a little more dosing for a while after a new patch. I put a new one on before bed.

I appreciate that If I miss a dose I could just put on the next patch, and I'm never double dosing.

I can't get it to stick to my legs or arms. It sticks to my back very well. I haven't had skin irritation. There's one I couldn't find to take off a few days ago. It may still be there used up, lol.
