Switch in generic medication
The article linked below describes a PwP who had his medication switched from brand name (Sinemet) to generic carbidopa/levodopa (C/L) and how this exacerbated what had previously been well-controlled Parkinson's symptoms. https://inews.co.uk/news/parkinson-patients-gps-switch-cheaper-drugs-2107778

Experiences with bHaptics TactGloves for Tass vCR stimulation paradigm?
Hi, I am wondering what experiences people have with the bHaptics TactGloves in trying out the vibrotactile Coordinated Reset (vCR) paradigm by Peter Tass and colleagues? These gloves (https://www.bhaptics.com/shop/tactglove) are an affordable ready-made solution for vibration stimulation so I would

Lots of OFF and Food interference
I've been losing weight, hard to eat enough to maintain. OFF interferes a lot with both eating and exercise. I've been offered to consider Entacapone, Neupro patch, Apomorphine sublingual, Rytary. All have pros and cons. I don't want to add to anticholinergic load, so as I understand, that leaves either

mucuna or sinemet?
why should it be different to take levodopa from mucuna or take it from sinemet? Isn't it the same chemical formula? L-DOPA/Formula : C9H11NO4

The role of istradefylline in the Parkinson's disease armamentarium

Mucuna pruriens plus carbidopa
(FYI I copied my own post from a fb group to save time. ) This is what I'm doing (mucuna pruriens plus carbidopa). It has been challenging to figure out, but my results are excellent. I've been experimenting with it since the end of September 2022. I think dosing is probably very unique for each person

neupro patch
My father was on 6 mg of the patch, and it was the highest dose. He was having a lot of hallucinations, and they were very very bad. His doctor took him off the neupro and raised his carbidopa levodopa weekly to 2000 mg/day. He had no withdraws and did very well. Not sure if this will help but his hallucinations

Apokyn concerns
This past year my husband has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. My Parkinson’s was under control with carbidopa/levodopa 50-200, and pramipexole 1.5mg. But the anxiety and stress over my husband negated the medication. So my neurologist put me on Apokyn. I found it worked first thing in the

Long term L-dopa Use Shortness of Breath
Just found out that L-dopa reacts to oxidizing agents. Some bottled water has oxidizing agents. Taking l-dopa with the bottled water or after using toothpaste or mouthwash might be contributing to shortness of breath. Anyone else experience this?

So I started taking a variety of supplements and that was working until recently when my symptoms got worse. My MDS put me on Sinemet and my symptoms

Medication Management
Hi folks, Really interested in opinions here - especially from the more experienced and time-served 'warriors'. Diagnosed 2 years ago after about 18 months of tests to establish why I had been experiencing arm stiffness, loss of some finger dexterity and foot/toe curling - all on my right hand side.
