Weaning off high dose Pramipexole
I have had RLS since the 1970s. Some years ago I had augmentation. At the time I was taking the maximum recommended dose of Pramipexole, .75mg. My neurologist addressed it by a pramipexole vacation and prescribed carbidopa levodopa for 3 months. Seemed odd as it is a dopamine drug but it worked

Real-time measurement of glucose as a proxy for levodopa concentration?
Goud et al. write [1]: "because dose optimization is currently based on patients’ report of symptoms, which are difficult for patients to describe, the management of PD is challenging. We report on a microneedle sensing platform for continuous minimally invasive orthogonal electrochemical monitoring

Ahlskog explains Dyskinesia
D’you remember the good ol’ days gang when we used to argue into the night about whether one should begin Levadopa earlier or later and whether Mucuna was better cause it didn’t cause dyskinesia and that the carbidopa was the agent that caused the dyskinesia etc. At some point, some wise person threw

One person’s 10 year journey of taking Levodopa. How the amount has increased, the change in dosing intervals and how they manage it.
This video is a really great honest and open account of someone’s experience in taking Levodopa. Well worth viewing for anyone taking the drug or thinking of taking it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AL-86-dZDi4

Fava Beans for Parkinson's?
This is a very good post that discusses the use of Fava Beans as a source of Levodopa and as a natural addition or adjunct to Sinemet. https://www.scienzavegetariana.it/nutrizione/favabeans.html

ND-0612 by Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma for Parkinson’s Disease: Likelihood of Approval
ND-0612 is under development as an adjunct to oral levodopa for the treatment of moderate to severe Parkinson's disease. The drug candidate is a liquid fixed dose combination of levodopa and carbidopa administered through a patch-pump or belt pump to deliver controlled dose continuously as subcutaneous

Excess Vit. B
Good morning everyone, I have a vit. B6 level of 56.8, much higher than the maximum reference level of 18.0. I didn't take a specific supplement but only complex B. We all know that vit.B6 negatively interferes with the proper functioning of Levodopa, so it is necessary for me to drastically reduce

Started Costentino/Bryant B1 Protocol 6 weeks ago, using the injection method. Utterly stunned after 3 days to already feel a considerable improvement. Can this be real? Improvements continue over 4 weeks. My life has changed. Yes, Daphne is right, I felt at least 70% better. Time to up the dose to

Does anyone here see decreases in tremors without using levodopa?
I see on the Constatini faq - The protocol we devised, in fact, always requires the addition of l-dopa in order to suppress the motor symptoms. I'm just about to begin B1, and my only symptom is tremors, so I'd rather avoid levodopa unless it's needed. Should I start with B1 only and see what happens

Her major symptom is Fatigue and drug induced dystonia. Then the neurologist prescribed the following set of tablets: Sinemet

DO FISH LIKE LEVODOPA ?
For the last 20 years I have noticed that my urine has been getting darker brownish , redish, orange and denser as it immediatly falls through the water to the bottom of the toilet. It contains a very high level of dissolved solids. I get more opportunity to observe than most as it happens every 20

Levodopa end-of-dose dystonia successfully treated by neuromuscular taping: A case report
Most of us experience this havoc and its very cumbersome and disturbing. While searching on the topic I came across this article and found it worth sharing. Neuromuscular taping (NMT) is a physical therapy technique where an elastic drug free tape is applied without tension in order to lift the skin

does dyskinesia go away when people stop taking levodopa?
If no, it indicates that levodopa somehow damages the brain
