Shortness of breath and chest pains
Two years after afib started I slipped into persistent afib and had an ablation. 60% of the way through the ablation I developed pericardial effusion and the ablation stopped and a drainage tube was placed in my heart. A couple of weeks later I developed chest pain from an autoimmune reaction called

Lexiscan Chemical Stress Test
My EP wants me to have a chemical stress test before he puts me on Flecainide. I have so many problems with Afib and PACs that I’m terrified to have them inject me with something that’s going to make my heart take off. I contacted the doctors office to ask them if I can have the treadmill stress test

Discoid lupus
Hi. I have just got results of biopsy. I have discoid lupus, I have also had full blood checks and came back clear. Every where I read says discoid lupus only affects the skin. But I have been experiencing joint pain pretty much every part of my body where there's joints, stiffness, extreme fatigue.

Any suggestions?
Any help for permanent afib after having three cardioversions which worked for the past two years last one only lasted two weeks. Taken off Multaq and on Lopressor 100 am & pm plus eliquis. Told ablation would more than likely not be successful. Should I get a second opinion. Do not feel that great

Straw therapy for low speech volume
Hubby has low volume speech. He is currently doing work with the Parkinson’s Voice Project (PVP) with some success — IF he keeps up with it. We recently saw exercises for help projecting with volume using a straw (you blow into a glass of water), supposedly this helps with increasing the muscle tone

Can azathioprine cause chest pains?
Hi, I have been on azathioprine tablets mostly 75mg to 100mg for my Lupus for approximately 20 years. Have been experiencing chest pains on my left side especially after excretion. I had various tests and scans but they are all negative. I had Covid last September and had to stop taking the azathioprine

Afternoon all, Background is I had 2 ablations in 2019 but Afib started coming back in 2021 so I was put onto flecainide and bisoprolol. The flec ended up causing more issues but since stopping flecainide and staying on bisoprolol I've been doing pretty well. I was on a very low does of 1.25mg daily

Psa doubled in less than a month
I had 10 infusions of Doxytaxel. I started reading about the consequences of CDK12 and was concerned that since I have this mutation doxy was not a treatment of choice. After giving time for the PSA to settle I had a test which showed that it doubled in close to 3 months. In preparation for a CT and

Just had My Monthly Injection of Firmagon Monthly Labs PSA is Up <0.06 to 0.09
That’s pretty modest. I’m assuming I will wait till next month to see if it goes down. Kind of stressed with this new diverticulitis and blood bowel thing AND Moving. Got results of psa after I saw My Medical Oncologist so haven’t discussed modest jump. Even with bleeding from rectum the gastroenterologist

The Epidemiology of Parkinson's Disease
I live in the Red River Valley - a neurodegenerative disease hot spot. This isn't where I was poisoned, it's where we landed after I got sick. I had to be transferred by ambulance to a different hospital system in May - there are specially trained teams for patients with ALS due to respiratory failure

Opioids can cause adrenal insufficiency
Hi everyone, It appears that opioids can cause adrenal insufficiency. This is something I have not seen mentioned here. Does anyone know about this? Here are a few articles. I think this has relevance to anyone trying to taper through the lower doses of pred if they are taking opioids for pain or any
