Low Ferritin and raised Iron
I have always struggled to get my ferritin levels up. I’m into nutrition so eat the right stuff, including meat daily and have eaten liver pate until I’m sick of the sight of it! Ferritin was 30’s-40’s (30-200) and I thought I’d try a 14 mg iron supplement and it has raised to a record high of 57!

I started taking T3 13 weeks ago from a private endo. I increased it gradually and am currently on 10mcg twice per day and lowered my levo from 175mg to 150mg. My problem is I actually feel worse than I did before! My last blood test showed that my T3 levels had gone up but could be better but I feel

Reducing T3 - please help me understand
Hi all, I am baffled with my situation. I would be so grateful for any ideas. First, after being extremely sick for over 5 years I was finally diagnosed with mold exposure early in 2023 and now being treated by a top specialist at Cleveland Clinic in the US. Making progress. This doc warned me

anyone have achy legs
I’m learning so much from reading everyone’s posts. Unfortunately I am still trying to figure out what is going on with my legs. I know I have a component of RLS as my legs feel like a “current” is running through them when I am sitting for long periods, watching Tv in evenings and laying in bed.

Confused about my results and advice on Thuroid specilist
Hi All. I have finally spoken to my Gp regarding my latest results and the appointment was just useless. I've been give Iron tablets for my low iron. Couldn't tell me why it's low. And didn't seem bothered about my low throid , he said recheck in 3 months. I said even though now it's been low since

What is my status
Please could someone clarify this for me as had an overactive thyroid which was knocked out with RAI. I am Thyroxine which, thank goodness, has stabilised me so that I am Euthyridic (sp) however there are the occasional flareups of eye problems associated with Throid Eye Disease. What I am really confused

Antibiotics and exhaustion
Could anyone confirm if antibiotics affect thyroid function? I take thyroxine at present and recently completed a two week course (two weeks ago on Tuesday). I took the first dose in the morning, an hour away from thyroxine as I couldn’t wait the two hours required due to timings through the day for

My doctors won’t investigate
Typically I suffer with chronic symptoms of low B12 but all my results seem to be ignored by GP. My ferritin is 35 ug/L (indeterminate), vitamin b12 is 157ng/L (low) and in my FBC my MCV is 95.5 (just below higher cut off) and MCH is 32.1 (slightly high - comment on blood test is ‘no action despite having

T3 question
I’m currently on T3 only because of bad reaction with levothyroxine. I’ve been on Liothyronine 10mcg twice a day since 11 November. I haven’t been back to the doctors for a thyroid function test since October as I’ve read frequently that on T3 only they go more on symptoms than levels. I no longer have

Time to heal
It is now 9 months since I started LT4 being titrated up and last weeks blood test show I have finally hit optimal levels. My GP has agreed to test again in 3 months to check I remain stable (on 125mcg.) Now, I am sure that because of various symptoms etc; my thyroid had struggled for at least 20 years

Advice on latest blood tests
Hi all, Hoping to get some advice on bloods following my latest tests. Just wondered if it's worth increasing the T4 as it's a bit lower since putting on a little bit of weight. I'm happy with my Vit D, B12, Folate and Iron and hence have not included those results. Thanks in advance

response regarding my endocrinologist complaint
Hi, I am sharing the letter I received from the hospital ( it’s taken them well over 6 months). I was so ‘cheesed off’ with the reply that it’s taken me 3 days to read it again and then I spilt coffee on it 🥴. I don’t know why I thought I’d get anything better, but the response is actually farcicle

Blood test protocol for Thyroid levels
Hi, just need some advice on doing Thyroid blood tests in the evening. I have seen the protocol for doing it in the morning before 9am and on an empty stomach etc. What about if your taking your T4 medication before bedtime at 11pm after eating your last meal 4 hours before. Do you take your blood

Got GP appointment but what to say to get him to test anything more than TSH
Hi 3 months ago I wrote a post about my daughters results since 2018 & her vitamin levels which are dire. It has taken her this long to manage to get a telephone appointment with a GP next Wednesday. My question is what does she say to convince them to test more than just her TSH. I went through

please help with figuring out what is wrong
I posted recently that my Mom’s Hemoglobin is dropping, same as RBC and Hemocrit, while MCV and MCH are high. She was diagnosed with Macrocytic Anemia but doctors can’t figure out the cause. The hematologist did bone marrow biopsy, PET scan and over 50 blood test, all normal except for Copper and Ferritin
