vitamin K
has anyone tried Vitamin K for RA OA. I just read on internet it is supposed to be good for bones? I have a terrible flare at moment, will try anything. I came off tacrolimus because of tinnitus which i now regret! Back on it again now and steroids. So awaiting it to kick in again! Pain everywhere

timing of medications

When to take my folic acid?
Hi everyone - just looking for advice on when to take my folic acid tablet. After weeks of back and forth with the doctors - who said my medichecks blood results did not show a need for a supplement, they insisted on doing a blood test themselves: this is the result - 2.8 ug/L [2.0 -18.7] with notes

Vitamin K-2 for Bone Health
I did not realize there were different forms of Vitamin K. I was doing some research and this is what I found. The two most important forms of Vitamin K-2 are MK-4 and MK-7. MK-4 has a short half life, only about 4 hours. This means half of it is eliminated from your body in 4 hours. MK-7 has a

With the risks of osteoporosis in your bones when using prednisolone, does anyone know what role Vitamin K can play in improving bone health?

I've just got my DEXA results: Lumbar spine -3 and Hip - 2.9. I am 62. I have been recommended Zoledronate infusions. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with these? Up till now I have just been taking Adcal-D and Vit K, along with exercise. As my scan is worse than it was 3 years ago (-2.6 then

Protein Shakes and Warfarin
Hi everyone, hope you are all doing well. I used to have regular protein shakes prior to my OHS, but since my operation I have been treading very carefully with food as trying to keep things "consistent" so not to affect my INR. I am now 19 weeks post surgery and have a mechanical valve. I am coming

Removing calcium.
Any thoughts out there on taking vit K and vit D to reduce calcium in the arteries? The idea is to take the D at breakfast, and the K at dinner time and ,over 3 months, the artery calcium should have actually reduced by some 30 to 50 %. If true, then it should be widely promulgated. Looking forward

Growing Challenge - Pea Shoots
Who wants to join me to see how each of us get on?
This autumn is going to be a first for me. Not sure how it will turn out but I will be growing Pea Shoots and picking them fresh for my salad. No more bagged pea shoots from the supermarket and in the long term will be cheaper and much fresher

Blood thinners
I was diagnosed in Feb with AF and asked a GP if I should avoid leafy veg with vitamin K. He referred me to Cardiology but I have been put on a waiting list to see/speak to one but the list is 30 to 35 months long! Does anyone know, I am taking Lixiana edoxaban? Many thanks in advance.

Vitamin results are in, advice please.
I finally managed to get a Ferritin test from GP after latest Medichecks showed it had gone down despite taking 20mg of Solgar Gentle Iron. Well, the NHS one shows it’s gone up to 31 from 24 which is amazing really as I haven’t been taking any iron for two weeks!!! So I’m getting no help from them.

Almost ready to test
I won’t bore you lovely people with my recent story, until my blood results come back but need some advice before doing a Medicheck test. I’m taking Solar's Gentle Iron 20mg, (ferritin was 24 with NHS test last time), Vit D spray with Vit K Mk2 and a pre/probiotic. I take Vit C once every few days as

In re: fear, and other things…
I’ve been reading and reading. Some conclusions have been drawn and there is one consistent theme; fear. We have relied on doctors to tell us what to do to fix osteoporosis but they do not have a clue. No two doctors will give the same answer regarding osteoporosis. Some of the remedies aren’t even

Co-supplementation of Vitamin D3, Vitamin K2 MK7 and Calcium
Unless you are actively increasing your Vitamin K2 MK7 levels through diet or supplementation, you are likely deficient and have inadequate levels for your bone and heart health needs. Vitamin K2 MK7 dosage recommendation is 150 to 180 mcg per day. Consult with your physician and a Registered Dietitian
