28 year old male with congenital AVS with recent mechanical aortic valve replacement with ascending aortic graft
Hi all, I have lived with my congenital AVS fairly well up to the age of 22 when I needed the intervention, which was to replace my leaky valve with a mechanical valve, along with this unfortunately I also needed an ascending aortic graft put in too due to the damage caused over the years. Ever since

Back pain plus angina
I am looking for help in distinguished chronic back pain and an angina episode.I would be most grateful for anyone's input regarding this issue. It may not seem a big problem & I am grateful that I have a gtn spray to use, but don't want to use it when its not necessary.

Hi Everyone I have moderate aortic valve stenosis and until recently was asymptomatic. Was told by GP that i have developed mild angina after some discomfort in the chest when walking briskly. He issued me with a Glyceryl Trinitrate spray which i haven't used yet as i have just backed off with the pace

Problems with stiff GTN pump action
My 90 year old mum has a GTN spray, but the last few bottles she has been given are too stiff for her to use. She says that a few years ago the spray was a different make and easier to pump [but she doesn't have the name of the manufacturer]. Has anyone else had this problem, and/or do you have any

hi, I have just joined this forum and hope someone can reassure me. I have been having chest pains but put it down to indigestion until last week when it was worse. I didn’t want to call an ambulance as gp suggested but they saw me in surgery straight away. I have been on statins for years as most of

Post stents follow up
Hi all 4 years ago I had 3 stents fitted following an NSTEMI . I attended rehab for a few months afterwards, then covid stopped all of that. I’ve kept active walking though and am using an exercise bike. I’m still 2 stone lighter than I was when I had the op and a trouser size down. Is there meant to

Quick question. Isosorbide Mononitrate.
After 2 trips to A&E and loads of tests I've been prescribed 60mg daily of Isosorbide Mononitrate to control/prevent angina. Just wondering, from experience, how others have found this and how quickly it began to work. Thankfully the headache appears to be easing, with the occasional paracetamol although

My response to WinnieThePoo.

Coronary spasm and face/neck numbness
I was diagnosed with coronary spasm earlier this year with the spasm bringing about a heart attack. Coronary spasm was diagnosed during the angiogram. After several months the medications seemed to be settling down with the spasms diminishing once I had been prescribed Isosorbide Mononitrate. But

Change of meds
I have been taking isosorbide mononitrate for coronary artery spasm but recently changed to amlodipine following the cardiologists discharge notes. Obviously I need to give the new meds time to work after 10 days of taking them. The symptoms still come and go and can feel my heart sensations more. Anxiety

what is right?
Having had chest pains and breathlessness for a number of years and told it was asthma, despite pumps not working, and originally being told it was angina GTN spray did nothing. Also being told through the years that ECG showed something but still no diagnosis, trips back and forth to A&E. Then four

CT Angio update, a most nervous patient lol
Just on way home from latest test, a CT contrast angiogram, took 2 injections of metoprolol on top of my oral meds to control pulse as I was in high anxiety mode even tho have had 2 previous other CTs in past 3 months, then at last minute reprieved from the gtn spray when they realised aortic stenosis
