Immune to Isosorbide ?
During an unscheduled night in A&E (false alarm in the end) the attending junior? cardiologist thought I might be immune to my prescribed Isosorbide mononitrate dose (2x20mg daily) no action was taken at that time and I was discharge with no fault found (again) I'm scheduled to see the team as an out

Think Outside The Box
There is a tendancy for hearties to think that every symptom is related to their heart disease or medication. Heart disease does not preclude other illnesses or medical conditions. So if something is causing worry check it out with your GP or ring 111. This also applies to worries about your heart but

I've been asked to take Isosorbide Mononitrate
Hey everyone Just picked up my first box of Isosorbide Mononitrate at 60mg half a tablet a day. As I've just got them this evening I wondered what was the best time to start taking my half tablet? Any suggestions what you people do who are on them. Sadly I can't get hold of anyone at the moment to ask

GTN Spray and Rivaroxaban
Hello there, I'm new to this forum. I have mild angina, that I have a GTN Spray for. I would normally take 75mg aspirin daily, but, at present, I'm recovering from a hip replacement and have been told to take Rivaroxaban 10mg daily. Question is, is it safe to use GTN Spray and Rivaroxaban together

Angina and GTN spray
I have angina fairly often. The GTN spray isn't always effective and when this is the case, I don't know what to do. The instructions say to call an ambulance if the angina remains after two separate doses have been taken. If I followed this advice I would be landing in A and E very frequently. I also

Hi all, I've had rather a dull ache in my chest for a day or two now.
I've taken my spray. It has helped but its left a burning sensation in the middle of my chest. Anyone had this happen with gtn spray?

MONOMIL S/R OR GNT SPRAY ?
Back in July I was awaiting a quadruple bypass, however due to other medical conditions it was deemed not viable so instead I was given a triple stent intervention. From the 4 blocked arteries there was 1 artery that couldn't be stented. Post-intervention, and on Clopidogrel 75mgs along with all the

I was interested to see this morning's news [1] because it has a bearing on a point I was recently trying to make (unsuccessfully). It's not uncommon to find someone on a cancer site claim that cancer hates oxygen. 'If only we could get more oxygen to the cancer it would die.' PCa is not at all inconvenienced

Let's Start Again - a tale of Woe
After finishing my first 3 days on week 1, way back in Feb, ..I told my doc, I had some chest pains, as they tell us to report. Not severe I hasten to add, I thought they were probably caused by using muscles that had been dormant for too many years.... However, at the end of W1, they had gone..woopi

How do I get better care?
I have coronary artery disease strong family history - high cholesterol- had 3 stents put in 2017 in a midland hospital after which I felt excruciating constant pain like somebody was turning a knife in my chest - in the hospital I was given paracetamol for the pain and nothing else I would sleep for

ANGINA WORSENING??
Hello everyone. Feeling more tightness in chest since weather cooling. Can exercise no problem whatsoever. Take GTN spray and do feel better once I take but was wondering whether I need to be on other medications if i have to take my spray daily when it's cold outside?

Should I have a flu jab?
Diagnosed with Coronary Artery Spasm in August last year and discharged by the cardio at that time. I’ve not seen anyone at all about it since and just have a GTN spray, but no other medication. BP is low normal, cholesterol is within acceptable limits so I guess I may not actually need any other medication

I'll never forget angina, nor the unexpectedness of its visitation.
In 1993 at the age of 57 I had an acute and prolonged onset of pain in my chest, unlike anything I had felt before, and quite impossible to ignore, while I was attending a meeting. Doctors were reluctant to diagnose it as anything to do with my heart. Diagnosed it as a muscular spasm. Later that year

Niggles after stent
Morning, I was diagnosed with angina back in early June. Sought a second opinion as I was essentially sent home with rampiril and a GTN spray. I ended up speeding up my very slow progress paying for a private angiogram. Cardiologist was sure I was fine and wanted to eliminate concerns. Shock for both

Hypoxia induced cancer stem cell enrichment promotes resistance to ADT.
New study below. One of the myths we regularly run into is that "cancer hates oxygen". People buy into dubious ways of delivering more oxygen to their tumors. A tumor will eventually outgrow its blood (& hence oxygen) supply. A lack of oxygen (hypoxia) will result in the generation of hypoxia-inducible
